Here we have a 1976 Ford Gran Torino Station Wagon. This car has a 400 V8 with a C6 3 speed automatic transmission and dual exhaust. Although the Wagon was originally yellow, it was not this color of yellow. Its original color was a lighter pale yellow. A rebuilt transmission was put into the car in 1996. The engine was rebuilt in 1993. I have documents for both. The car is air conditioned, has power windows, power steering and brakes. The brakes work well. The wagon starts, runs and drives. It needs a tune and possible a carb rebuild. The headliner is all in place, not hanging but does have several small seam failures. The transmission is strong as is the engine. The radiator has a leak in the upper tank and will need to be fixed prior to the car being driven far. This car is definately a project. There is surface rust in places as shown in the photos. I could not find any rust through or cancer in the car. (that does not mean there is none as there is a lot of acreage under this car). It has an am/fm 8 track in dash radio. Their are spots of bondo on the body, the antenae was removed, the hole covered and the bondo there has cracked. Although not on the car at this time, I have all the rear window trim. The front and back seats need recovered. The 3rd seat in the far back does not appear to have ever been used and is like new as are the seat belts with the 3rd row seat which have Ford tags on them and appear also to have never been used. The carpet is shot and needs to be replaced. The dash is nice, as you can see in the photos the original steering wheel was removed and replaced with a Grant Gt steering wheel. The passenger front door window will not roll down. The door panel is not attached to the car. The air conditioning will probably need resealed and refilled. The Wagon definately needs new shock absorbers. There is a small rock chip (crack) in the windshield. I have the original jack, a spare tire and lug wrench for the car. The original air cleaner was replaced with a chrome cleaner and is not with the car.The car has 15 inch Eagle Alloy wheels with T/A radials on it. Many of the parts on this car are hard to find and expensive. If someone has a super nice Wagon the are restoring this would be a great parts car.
I do not know how many miles are on this car as it has a 5 digit odometer. When I took possession of the car, I was told the mileage was correct. I would actually assume it to have rolled over. The documents for the car will read mileage exempt as it is over 10 years old (barely)....
I am selling this Wagon with no reserve. I hope it will be purched by one of the many Torino or Wagon collectors to be restored. That said I think if someone is restoring a Torino wagon, the like new 3rd seat in this car would be very desirable. The Eagle wheels are very nice and would be awesome with a little polish.
I have driven this wagon about 50 miles. It is kinda fun to drive and with a little work would be awesome. There will be no additional charge for the BIOHAZARD sticker on the rear door.
This Gran Torino wagon is sold AS IS where is. I am starting with a low price and would like the wagon to go to someone who will enjoy it!
