Up for auction is a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 Convertible Clone. The motor is dated 12/12/70, (L-12-70) which would make this a 1971 big block motor. The car was built 4/70. The original color was Chevrolet code 48 (green) but now this Chevelle sports a 1 MONTH OLD $8,000 paint job, done body on, in Cortez Silver. (Basecoat clearcoat PPG) This car has factory bucket seats and console. The floors and trunk are all original. The GM quarter panels are original, with a 3"x 4" repair on each. The front fenders are GM original, GM (non-flapper) cowl hood with hoodpins. Front and rear bumpers are brand new. There is a new 4 core radiator. Underneath the car is very presentable, but is not concours condition.Turbo 400 transmission with F41 suspension, including both front and rear sway bar. 12 bolt 3:31 rear, with posi. The black POWER convertible soft top (with pad) is brand new as is the rear glass window. There are brand new gas and brake lines, new shocks, front disc brakes, power steering, SS steering wheel, and AM Chevrolet radio (not working) 2.5 " FLOWMASTER exhaust system. Brand new 15" SS wheels mounted on new BF Goodrich radial T/A's. This car presents itself very nicely, and goes down the road effortlessly.
