Vehicle Detail

This is a very nice Right Hand Drive Scout 800. Originally a mail delivery truck, it has been used on our property exclusively for the last two years as a utility vehicle. When purchased two and a half years ago, I parked it in my garage and did a light restoration over about 6 months. The vehicle was virtually rust free when I bought the Scout and what little rust was there, (primarily a couple of spots in the floor board) was repaired with a welded-in heavy gauge sheetmetal. I then sprayed a two part bedliner into the bed and the passenger compartment. The vehicle as seen in the pictures is painted camoflage. I have never driven it on the road other than getting it to my property. It starts and runs very well, since my goal with it was to make it as reliable around the acreage as possible. It started in the zero degree weather that we had a few weeks ago. In order to accomplish reliability, I replaced and upgraded the one barrel carburetor with a 2 barrel Motorcraft 5200 (Weber 32/36 clone), added a Pertronix ignition to relieve myself of the trials and tribulations of point ignition, replaced all the hoses, recored the radiator, battery, front and rear u joints, shocks, water pump , clutch master and slave cylinders, body bushings, front and rear brake shoes, fuel pump, exhaust system, and rebuilt the front steering knuckles. It has the D27 axles front and rear, four wheel drive high and low operate. The heater works and the glass is all intact. It doesn't leak any oil, nor has it used any between annual oil changes, but I don't think that I put more than about 300 miles a year on it. The odometer reads 28xxx miles, but that is not correct. The scout will need some electrical work if licensed for the street. The turn signals and brake lights don't operate. It has one windshield wiper that operates off the engine vacuum. If you are interested in a farm/hunting/fishing vehicle this is your ride. If you want to do a major restoration, this is a rust free, good running vehicle.
