~~oo00oo~~ Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow 1972 (2nd last car off the production line for the chrome bumper model) Fully restored by Rolls-Royce experts This is a very handsomely restored Silver Shadow saloon finished in Silver Mink with ebony hides and hand painted black fine-lines on the waist-rails and hubcap beauty rings. The colour is a silvery-green hue - perhaps to be described as a metallic sage green - it is not blue as it looks in some photos. Contrasted with the black Connolly hides, it simply looks stunning. By the chassis number, this actual Silver Shadow is the 2nd last production car from the Crewe factory for 1972 of the chrome bumper models destined for the US. Following this came the North American specification protuding rubber style bumpers. This gorgeous Silver Shadow has only just recently undergone considerable refurbishment. The paint job is stunning and was a bare metal respray costing some $8,500 and carried out by Rolls-Royce experts - the Park-Ward Motor Museum's experienced RR body-shop. The paint is perfect without a single stone-chip, scratch or mark. Not a single one! The interior is like new and is virtually brochure quality - as the photos testify. The Italian burl walnut wood is immaculate with the dash, console, top-roll dash-pad finisher, all 4 doors and rear vanity mirrors having been recently redone by Park-Ward's craftsmen, JC Wood Finishers. The process was done at considerable cost and in accordance with the Rolls-Royce "multi-layer lacquering technique" which involves painstaking wet sanding and buffing by hand between all coats. The final finish on the wood throughout is simply stunning. The leather is lovely with no tears or cracks and present beautifully having been re-Connollised (not the same as simple re-dying). Any line or marks you see in the photos are the natural creases synonymous with Connolly hide leather . The carpets are brand new Wilton wool, the carpet imported from the UK, and the leather bound by hand - all tailor-made in-house and in accordance with Rolls-Royce standards. If the winning buyer is interested, I can supply a brand new set of genuine Rolls-Royce “moutons”. They will come in their original plastic wrapping and Rolls-Royce-Crewe box. The headlining in the car is in good condition as is all glass and interior finishes. The rear parcel shelf is newly upholstered in broad cloth. All features and functions are working; electric windows, electric seats etc. The Air conditioning blows icy cold with a new compressor having been recently fitted. Mechanically, this Shadow is a very fine example. It has been fully workshop inspected with anything required doing, attended to by Park-Ward's Rolls-Royce mechanics and craftsmen. The engine is smooth and quiet and the steering light but tight. Important costly items such as the hydraulics and brakes were all fully inspected and serviced as required. This included checking of all brake hoses and system pressure tested and bled. Many other serviceable parts were replaced and items attended to and repaired as needed. For example, the under-bonnet padding was replaced with correct fire retardent material hand-sewn as per the original style and look of this era Silver Shadow. The car is truly ready to drive and enjoy. This Silver Shadow also drives very well, considerably quieter and smoother than you would normally expect for any Shadow of this era. Mileage is not verifiable but commensurate with the car's pre-restoration condition. The white-wall tyres are brand new (100% tread and still sporting the “knobblies” of a new tyre) and have travelled only "road-test" miles as part of the cars restoration process. The hubcaps have been machine polished and are excellent with no major imperfections in the stainless or painted trim rings. The pin-striping on the beauty rings are finished in the original hand-painted technique. All remaining bright-work is in excellent condition as are the chrome bumpers which are in beautiful condition. Tail lights and turn signal lenses all round are very good without any cracks or fade marks. All the door-jam stainless sill moulds were removed during the painting process and machined buffed. All features, functions and electrics have been checked right down to the smallest and insignificant dash and courtesy light. The car has its original radio and 8-trach cassette player. Please understand when we received this car it was a very original and straight example. It was not beaten up and in bad condition. On the contrary, it was a fine old girl that had the all the signs of a well maintained car. It simply had never been restored before, so it was now "time". This is the first restoration the car has undergone - it still had its original paint, albeit faded. A summary of the cost of the work undertaken is: Paint - $8,500 Interior refurbishment including new carpets and wood - $7,000 Mechanical service and repairs including new tyres - $5,000 Sundry restoration items & procedures - $2,000 ~~ This Silver Shadow is one of those hard-to-find examples where a considerable amount of money has been spent on restoring her to correct and original specifications. It is an excellent purchase for a buyer who simply wants a 9 out of 10 Silver Shadow and does not want to spend anything on her. This one is ready to "go and show". ~~ Many more photos can be seen at the link below. I encourage all bidders to review these in detail to best appreciate this fine example. Click HERE to see additional photos! ~~ **Please note: This Rolls-Royce is part of the collection of the Park-Ward Motor Museum. I am a professional collector and experienced restorer and I have my own Rolls-Royce dedicated workshop with qualified craftsmen on hand. As a passionate collector of the marque I take great pride and pleasure in passing on any of my cars to its next owner (“caretaker”). In so doing, once this Rolls-Royce is sold, I will put the car back thru my workshop to ensure that it is mechanically sound and all major features and functions are operating as described. This will be performed after the sale and before delivery – at NO CHARGE. Who else selling a Rolls-Royce on eBay does this?! This provides the buyer the peace of mind to purchase with complete confidence. ~~ Click HERE to see additional photos! ~~oo00oo~~ ~~oo00oo~~ This Rolls-Royce is part of my private collection. I am not a broker or main-stream/retail car dealer; I am a professional car collector of some 25 years with considerable experience and knowledge of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars. I have a long standing reputation being associated with the marque which I take seriously. I am one of the leading Rolls-Royce restorers in the country. I take a lot of pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer, and you are the winning bidder, please understand you have entered a binding contract. You cannot bid and win the auction and expect not to meet the terms and conditions. Bidding and/or winning does not mean you are expecting me to “hold” the car until you have the opportunity to inspect it. Any inspection contemplated should be undertaken BEFORE you bid of make an offer. You are bidding and/or making offers to buy WITHOUT conditions. A $2000.00 deposit (non-refundable) will be required within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal. The balance of funds are required within 7 days of the close of the auction and must be provided by cashier’s check or bank wire. I cannot accept PayPal for the balance unless you are willing to meet the cost of transfer fees. Full payment must be made (and payments cleared) before the title and/or the vehicle is released. If all the funds are not received as indicated above, I reserve the right the keep the deposit and resell the vehicle by re-listing or to another bidder. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements on a worldwide basis but the winning bidder takes full responsibility for pickup and/or shipping and at his cost. As a collector and experienced restorer of the marque, I make every effort to bring my cars to a very high standard but the very nature of these classic Rolls-Royces is such that it is not always possible to attend to every single item, or perhaps I may have inadvertently overlooked an item. Further, a feature or function that is working perfectly one moment, may decide to play-up the next. For this reason it is necessary for the following condition: The vehicle is being sold "as-is/where-is" with no warranty expressed, written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are made with reasonable judgment and all efforts are made to ensure fair assessment and accuracy but they are for descriptive and identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be responsible for errors in description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, unforeseen imperfection, defect or damage. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have satisfied himself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects at the buyer’s request prior to the close of the auction. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. I can hold the vehicle up to 30 days while you arrange shipping but you must immediately insure it. I will not bear any responsibility for any costs including storage, transportation, or repair after the close of the auction. Also, you must remember that this is a classic +/-38 year old vehicle, and while it is up to you, I do not recommend that you just “hop in and drive it across the country”. At least, I have never done that. I have always professionally transported the cars from where I bought them to my home. PLEASE; IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS, DO NOT BID.
