Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my car. Up for sale is my 1989 Saab 900 Turbo Convertable. This car is in very nice shape for its age with NO RUST!!!!!!! The body of the car has a few parking lot dents but nothing major, the hood has 1 dent on the driver's side front corner as well as a cracked headlight lense, thanks to some careless and inconcederate person who backed into the car with their trailer hitch at wal-mart one night then drove away. Other than those minor issues the body of the car is sound. The interior is in very nice shape, much better than other saabs I've seen this age and especially being a convertible. The leather seats have no rips or tears and I have replaced all fabric door panels both front and rear. The car has a nice high powered Sony CD player with new infinifty 6.5 speakers in the rear seat area. The top is in good condition apart from a small 2" rip right above the rear view mirror from the previous owners long fake finger nails. The power top motor was replaced by the previous owner however the system was never bled so the pump does run and the top will try to retrack however you can hear the air in the system causing low pressure. The car has new tires new brakes, both primary and secondary fuel pumps have been replaced, rebuilt tranny and the turbo was replaced all within the last 100 miles. The only problem the car has is a faulty ignition switch, the old one finally became corroded and I have since bought a new switch. Sadly the new switch I purchased was no good and when I tried to return it for another one I was told sorry we do not offer refunds or warranties on electrical parts. The car ran beautifully before the switch went bad, for awhile I could use the switch with a screw driver (switch was to stiff to turn with key) to start the car but I finally broke down and bought the new switch installed it and the car will not start, and there is arching in the switch itself. Other than the ignition switch problem the car is sound and should still offer plenty of life for the next owner, I would love to keep this car but I have just inherited 2 new projects from my late father so I am more focused on those now. On Feb-18-11 at 14:58:54 PST, seller added the following information: UP DATE!!!!!!! The car is now in running condition again, seems the gas gauge is sticky and was reading just over a 1/4 tank and it was just coincidence that the car ran out of gas the night before I installed the new switch. The switch does work but the starter contact is loose internally so sometimes you have to wiggle the wire for the car to start. Other than the ignition switch problem the car is sound and should still offer plenty of life for the next owner, I would love to keep this car but I have just inherited 2 new projects from my late father so I am more focused on those now.
