1995 MERCEDES BENZ S320 - brilliant silver (#744) with gray leather, 97k miles, short wheel base, 3.2L six cylinder, 228 HP, 5 speed automatic transmission. A Texas and Arizona car, presently in Phoenix. EXTERIOR This is a garaged southwestern car with excellent paint, only a few small flaws. The doors and fenders are very straight and there is no rust or corrosion anywhere. The 8 hole alloy wheels are original and excellent. The tires are very good Michelin MXV4s. INTERIOR The interior is excellent. The leather upholstery is excellent on both the seats and the door panels. The carpet and headliner are excellent. There are a few small cracks in the wood clearcoat on the center console around the gearshift but otherwise the wood is excellent. All interior power features, sunroof, radio, climate control, etc. all work properly. The trunk, trunk mat and spare tire well are very clean. MECHANICAL The car starts immediately and quietly on cold, warm and hot starts and runs and drives as it should in all conditions. All dash gauges work. All dash warning lights work and none are indicating a fault. The engine wiring harness has been replaced. The harness part tag shows a manufacturer date (FD) of October 2007. The five speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly and properly in all gears. There is no pause shifting into reverse and no clicking noise when backing up in reverse. The transmission was recently serviced. OTHER NOTES 1995 short wheel base S320 is the most basic 140 chassis S-class models and the easiest to maintain. They do not have an expensive hydraulic suspension system – just regular coil springs and shocks. They also do not have the vacuum door close assist system – the only 140 chassis model that does not have it. This car has the standard ETS traction control system and not the troublesome optional ASR system. 1995 S320s are also unique in that they have both OBDI and OBDII diagnostic systems. Fault code readers for both systems are included. Also included is the factory service and repair DVD (see picture), which is apparently no longer available from Mercedes. Fuel economy is excellent - consistently in the high 20s on the highway – remarkable for a car of this size. There are two keys - one standard master key, and one folding master key with infrared remote control. The seller is the third owner. The first two owners were of the same family – first a mother in El Paso and then her son in the Dallas area. The car was serviced at Mercedes dealers for most of its life. QUESTIONS?
