I am offering this stunning original 1978 Mercedes 450 SL convertible that has been in my family for many years and is sold as part of my family's prized collection.The car has been kept in the garage for many years .The car was maintained and serviced and is in great running and driving condition.The car only has 49,217 actual miles (extremely low miles for a vintage SL).Books and records are included.Car is in exceptionally clean original condition.The car was bought brand new in Huntington Beach and has always been in dry California with absolutely no rust anywhere.The car is completely stock and original.The car still has the original silver alloy wheels.This is definitely a low mile survivor that was kept in gorgeous condition.This is a super desriable factory original signal(fire engine)red with very rare parchment(creme) interior.You can't ask for any better color combination that is still in beautiful original condition.The red paint is spectacular and in stunning condition.There are virtually no paint issues like scratches or dings.The doors,trunk,and hood all close perfectly.The body is factory straight and has no sun damage or ripples anywhere.The car has perfect original body panels that were never changed and no body work(accident free).The car has matching numbers with the original fuel injected V-8 motor(very reliable and trouble free.Driving this car down the street is such a pleasure.The car runs and drives like a dream.Engine compartment is super clean and goes to show you how well thre car was kept in throughout the many years since production.The car come with alot of luxury goodies like factory air conditioning and power windows.It,of course,came standard with power steering and power disc brakes.Factory air conditioning is ice cold.The car also has both the hardtop and softtop.This makes it great for any type of weather or use.The black canvas softtop is brand new and can be seen close up in the photos.The hardtop is in excellent shape.The tires are in great shape with alot tread left on them.The original parchment interior is spotless.The original seats are unmarked and unblemished and the seat pads are still firm and non saggy.The carpets are very nice and correct.The trunk is totally original and has never had any rust(I know this area is very succeptible to rust).It does have the original tool kit and spare tire.The spare tire holder is in perfect original shape with no holes or rust.The car is in amazing condition both cosmetically and mechanically.No work is needed to drive this car to your nearest show or special event.This 33 year old gem are becoming hard to come across,especially the first year 450 SL.This is the collectible one and would make a great addition to anyone who want a fantastic low mile Mercedes convertible that will always be a timeless classic.Would love to see this go to a good new home.I think it would make a great addition to a fine collection or just someone who wants a very nice old and reliable SL to show off in.This is part of my family classic car collection that I am offering at No Reserve!
