1986 Honda Rebel

I purchased this bike in July of 2009. It is my first motorcycle and it was a dream to learn on. The 450cc engine is perfect on streets and cruises with ease on the freeway. There is plenty of power. Honda only made the 450 for 2 years and they are very hard to find. When I purchased it, it had not ran for many years. I replaced the battery with an expensive no-fill one. I took it to a shop and had them get it running. I cruised around town with it for a few months while I was learning and had no problems . It has been parked in my garage now for several months. It starts up and idles fine, but now when you give it gas it dies. I am not a mechanic and am unsure of what is causing this problem. It could simply be rust in the gas tank preventing the flow of fuel. I am sure it can be fixed relatively cheap, or someone may know what's wrong and be able to fix it themselves. There are a few scratches and chips in the paint but hardly noticeable. I also added a switch on the light to turn it off. Before it was on all the time (that's how it was built) This helps you conserve your battery. I also replaced the stock mirrors with a better ones. . The wheels and tires are in great condition.
