~~oo00oo~~ ~~oo00oo~~ Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow 1967 A gorgeous “old-girl” – no expense spared maintenance and stunning presentation. ~~The Silver Shadow, in particular the early 1966 to 1968 model years, represent the dawn of a whole new model for Rolls-Royce with the then revolutionary monocoque body design. These early cars were the result of design and engineering over many years without the modifications that crept in over subsequent years to accommodate international safety design rules and requirements. The expansive wood dash-board, full chrome interior door handles and seat design were without the limitations set by emerging standards – most prominent in the US. This enabled the elegance of a plethora of burl walnut and chrome accents that exquisitely distinguished the “new” Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow and presenting the cars as they were intended – not as they “needed” to become.~~ This first of the Silver Shadow series is a very true and straight example finished in a very elegant 2-tone Highland green over Sherwood green with black Connolly hide leather interior. It is highlighted with hand-painted contrasting fine lines to the waist-rails and hub-cap beauty rings in light pewter. This is an amazingly well maintained California example with many receipts totaling in excess of $40,000 over the last 15 years. This was a 1 owner car right up until 2005 - you can see a photo of a 1968 California insurance paper. This elderly owner of many years was extremely fastidious. The car was finally sold after almost 40 years to a senior collector who was equally passionate and fastidious. In one "service maintenance" exercise alone, the work-order was in excess of $20,000! Original service receipts (as photographed below) come with the car. It was acquired by the Park-Ward Motor Museum for these incredible credentials as a well maintained example. It has recently undergone a light cosmetic restoration. The body is straight & rust-free with the Highland green top half having recently been repainted to a high quality finish by the Park-Ward Museum paint-shop ($6,500) because of light fading. The fine-lines on the waist-rails and hubcap beauty rings were hand-painted by one of the few remaining craftsmen of the art. The interior is in wonderful condition presenting in all original Connolly hide leathers. Overall, it is excellent in appearance with only a minimal amount of patina from moderate use over the years. It is a very welcomed look. There are no cuts, tears or worn patches. The African burl walnut wood is excellent with the dash, front window embellishing and all 4 door cappings having been refinished by an east coast Rolls-Royce French polishing expert in the last few years (please note; re-doing all the wood correctly like this is in the order of $3,000). The factory commissioned and original picnic tables fitted to the rear of the front seats are in excellent condition and presentation on both inside and outside surfaces. They deliver a wonderful surprise when opened given the use of mirror inlay Mahogany on the tray side, which is truly exquisite. The dash-board is the high-light of the interior with a stunning wood-grain that displays, by the grace of nature, a heavy contrast of light and dark golden grains. All this wood against the ebony hides is a stunning contrast. The head-lining is brand new having been re-done in correct light tan broadcloth loom and to exacting original Rolls-Royce specifications. The cost was in excess of $2,500 and makes the interior look very crisp and like new. Floor carpets are very good as are those in the boot (trunk). All chrome, stainless steel and bright-work is in good condition - as is the glass, lights and lenses all round. All features and functions are fully operational with air conditioning, heating, windows and seats operating properly. Even the clock ticks away noticeably Rolls-Royce. All other electricals are in excellent working condition. Mechanically, this Silver Shadow is complete and, as mentioned previously, its almost unbelievable high standard of maintenance is of pedigree status. Everything functions as it should and everything that normally needs attention on this classic model has been addressed. Needless to say, it has excellent hydraulics and brakes and a very smooth operating engine. It was recently work-shop inspected and passed with flying colours! The attention to detail in the engine bay is testimony in its own right to its maintenance history. The 51,000 miles are not verifiable although the smooth operation of all the mechanicals and the overall condition of the car is consistent with a low mileage example. The whitewall tyres are correct fitment 215/70s and are in excellent condition. Naturally, the car comes with its original operating manual, jack and tools. ~~ The release of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow in 1966 took the motoring world by storm and left even the most renowned luxury car manufacturers with dropped jaws and consumers in awe. It was to be the single most successful model ever to be produced by Rolls-Royce Motors. This one is a beautiful example and provides as an excellent all-round 9 out of 10 driver/collectable. It has the makings for display registration at your next club show or simply take it as it is to your next Rolls-Royce & Bentley meet with confidence. ~~ Many more photographs are available at the following link. I am not a broker or main-stream/retail car dealer; I am a professional car collector of some 25 years with considerable experience and knowledge of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars. I have a long standing reputation being associated with the marque which I take seriously. I am one of the leading Rolls-Royce restorers in the country. I take a lot of pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer, and you are the winning bidder, please understand you have entered a binding contract. You cannot bid and win the auction and expect not to meet the terms and conditions. Bidding and/or winning does not mean you are expecting me to “hold” the car until you have the opportunity to inspect it. Any inspection contemplated should be undertaken BEFORE you bid of make an offer. You are bidding and/or making offers to buy WITHOUT conditions. A $2000.00 deposit (non-refundable) will be required within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal. The balance of funds are required within 7 days of the close of the auction and must be provided by cashier’s check or bank wire. I cannot accept PayPal for the balance unless you are willing to meet the cost of transfer fees. Full payment must be made (and payments cleared) before the title and/or the vehicle is released. If all the funds are not received as indicated above, I reserve the right the keep the deposit and resell the vehicle by re-listing or to another bidder. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements on a worldwide basis but the winning bidder takes full responsibility for pickup and/or shipping and at his cost. As a collector and experienced restorer of the marque, I make every effort to bring my cars to a very high standard but the very nature of these classic Rolls-Royces is such that it is not always possible to attend to every single item, or perhaps I may have inadvertently overlooked an item. Further, a feature or function that is working perfectly one moment, may decide to play-up the next. For this reason it is necessary for the following condition: The vehicle is being sold "as-is/where-is" with no warranty expressed, written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are made with reasonable judgment and all efforts are made to ensure fair assessment and accuracy but they are for descriptive and identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be responsible for errors in description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, unforeseen imperfection, defect or damage. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have satisfied himself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects at the buyer’s request prior to the close of the auction. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. I can hold the vehicle up to 30 days while you arrange shipping but you must immediately insure it. I will not bear any responsibility for any costs including storage, transportation, or repair after the close of the auction. Also, you must remember that this is a classic +/-38 year old vehicle, and while it is up to you, I do not recommend that you just “hop in and drive it across the country”. At least, I have never done that. I have always professionally transported the cars from where I bought them to my home. PLEASE; IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS, DO NOT BID. International bidders welcome ~~ **Please note: This Rolls-Royce is part of the collection of the Park-Ward Motor Museum. I am a professional collector and experienced restorer and I have my own Rolls-Royce dedicated workshop with qualified craftsmen on hand. As a passionate collector of the marque I take great pride and pleasure in passing on any of my cars to its next owner (“caretaker”). In so doing, once this Rolls-Royce is sold, I will put the car back thru my workshop to ensure that it is mechanically sound and all major features and functions are operating as described. This will be performed after the sale and before delivery – at NO CHARGE. Who else selling a Rolls-Royce on eBay does this?! This provides the buyer the peace of mind to purchase with complete confidence. ~~ ~~oo00oo~~ "RRMOTORSINC": Qualified & experienced in Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars world-wide for 29 years
