UP FOR AUCTION IS A 1985 CHEVY SILVERADO 30 1 TON DUALLY LONG BED / DOOLEY WITH A 7.4L 454 BIG BLOCK WITH VERY LOW ORIGINAL MILEAGE @ 58,938 MILES. THIS TRUCK IS A HARD TO FIND 100% ORIGINAL RARE TRUCK BECAUSE MOST SINGLE CAB DUALLYS WERE USED FOR WORK TRUCKS AND HAD A UTILITY BED AND THIS ONE HAS A DUALLY LONG BED AND A SINGLE CAB IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. STORY BEHIND THE TRUCK IS THAT MY DAD ORIGINALLY OWNED IT AND WAS THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND IT WAS NOT DRIVEN VERY MUCH HE DROVE IT UNTIL APPROX 1995 WHERE HE DECIDED TO PARK IT AND NOT DRIVE IT ANYMORE BECAUSE HE WAS UPSET THAT THE PAINT BEGAN PEELING OFF YEARS EARLIER AND CHEVY WOULD NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. SO AFTER BEING STORED UNTIL JANUARY OF 2010 HE GAVE ME THE TRUCK AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR THE PAST YEAR AND HAVE PUT ON APPROXIMATLY 1,000 MILES. THE STORY BEHIND THE PAINT PEELING IS THAT CHEVY SAYS THERE WAS A FEW YEARS THAT THEY PAINTED SOME VEHICLES WITH PAINT AND PRIMER THAT DID NOT ADHERE TO EACH OTHER AND THE VEHICLES THAT WERE MOSTLY EFFECTED WERE VEHICLES THAT WERE PAINTED BLUE AND OR SILVER AND THIS TRUCK HAD BOTH THOSE COLORS. YOU WILL NOTICE THAT THERE IS LIGHT BODY RUST IN THE PHOTOS THE RUST THAT YOU SEE IS LIGHT SURFACE RUST AND CAN BE REPAIRED EASY. I TOOK AUTO COLLISION AND BODY WORK IN COLLEGE AND I KNOW THE RUST CAN BE REPAIRED IN THESE AREAS. THE BODY IS SOLID. THE ONLY PANEL I WOULD POSSIBLY REPLACE WOULD BE THE HOOD SINCE IT IS NOT WORTH THE WORK TO ME TO DO THE REPAIRS. OTHER THAN THAT I WOULD JUST REPAIR THE PANELS. THERE IS NO RUST HOLES ANYWHERE ON THE TRUCK. THE BODY IS PERFECTLY STRAIGHT I CAN NOT EVEN FIND ONE DING IN ALL THE BODY. ITS PRETTY AMAZING. AS FOR THE BED THERE WAS A 3 INCH HOLE CUT IN ON THE FLOOR FROM MOUNTING A TANK THERE. BUT THAT CAN ALSO BE REPAIRED EASILY OTHER THAN THAT THE BED REALLY APPEARS TO HAVE NO ISSUES BED IS IN GREAT SHAPE WITH MAYBE A COUPLE DINGS (4 OR 5) ON THE INSIDE OF BED WHICH IS ALSO PRETTY AMAZING SINCE IT IS A TRUCK. THE FRAME AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT ARE IN GREAT SHAPE AND JUST NEED SOME CLEANING. THE INTERIOR IS ALSO IN GOOD SHAPE AND IS ALL ORIGINAL BUT COULD USE SOME RESTORATION. MATERIAL ON SEAT IS BRITTLE AND HEAD LINER IS SAGGING AND BRITTLE. CARPET IS ORIGINAL. PASSENGER POWER WINDOW DOES NOT WORK DONT KNOW IF IS SWITCH OR WINDOW MOTOR BECAUSE I NEVER LOOKED AT IT. WHAT I DID WHEN I FIRST RAN TRUCK WAS I DROPPED THE PAN ON THE TRANSMISSION AND CHANGED THE TRANS FLUID AND FILTER, REPLACED THE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER, CHANGED ALL OTHER FLUIDS, LUBED CHASSIS, CHANGED FILTERS, CLEANED CARBURATER, REPLACED FUEL PUMP AND DRAINED FUEL TANK ON PASSENGER SIDE AND FILLED WITH NEW FUEL AND ADDED A FUEL TREATMENT AND INSTALLED A BATTERY. THEN TRIED TO START VEHICLE AND IT STARTED UP LIKE IT NEVER EVEN WAS SITTING FOR YEARS. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR THE LAST YEAR JUST LOCALLY AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH TRUCK. THERE IS NO HOSE ON A/C I CUT IT OFF SINCE IT WAS BRITTLE. I HAVE THE BELT BUT I HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO REPLACE IT OTHER THAN THAT THE TRUCK DRIVES PERFECT EVERYTHING FEELS TIGHT IN SUSPENSION AND STEERING. EVERYTHING ON THIS TRUCK IS ORIGINAL WITH THE ORIGINAL CHEVY 7.4L 454 CI BIG BLOCK WITH A 3 SPEED AUTO TRANSMISSION AND REAR DIFF IS A 4.10 RATIO. DUAL FUEL TANKS.
