You are bidding on my 1985 Jeep CJ7 4x4 that I need to get out of my garage as I do not have the time to finish it. I originally bought the Jeep for my daughter who would rather have a car. I purchased it several years ago from a car dealer who had it in a storage warehouse. The Jeep is in above average condition for its age but is not perfect and I do not have the time to fix the very small issues so I am selling it as-is. I will give you as many deatils as possible so that you can make an informed bid. If I leave anything out please email me. I will not end the auction early and sell the Jeep so please do not ask. The Jeep as mentioned above is in above average condition for its age and is mostly original with some modifications. It has 57, 454 actual miles on it and was originally sold in California and spent most of its life there until coming to Alabama in 2004(I Do have the carfax if you want to see it). It has the 6cyl engine with a rare automatic transmission, tilt wheel, towing package and low geared rear end. All of the CA emmissions have been removed or disabled and a new exshaust installed. The Jeep has the factory original Ice Blue Poly paint on it and looks good for its age but has the normal scratches, chips, and dings on it but still looks good. It also has holes where the CB antena goes as I took the CB out and have not replaced the antena. I have included some of them in the pictures. The Jeep is not rust free due to several small spots of surface rust under the hood and on the passenger side door handle as well as little spots here and there but it does not have any major rust anywhere on it, nor has it ever. There has never been any body work on the jeep. Recently took the carpet out and installed new carpet and the floor boards look just like the exterior and are in near perfect condition. The body has a small dent under the license plate and the paint has been removed in the same area and I have included a pic of that as well. The Jeep has chrome wheels that are 25 years old but are in great condition for their age. Just put new tires on the Jeep about 6 months ago. The jeep has been lifted about 2 1/2 inches to accomadate the somewhat larger wheels and tires. The Jeep is an original hardtop jeep but does not have the orginal hardtop. I will give you the top that is shown in the pictures to go with the jeep. It is off of a 1990 Wrangler and I have rhino lined the exterior of the top and it serves the purpose; however it does not have a back glass. I wanted to put a soft top on it but did not want to drill any holes. The jeep runs really well but looses it prime when it sits overnight so it will need a carb rebuild kit installed to correct that problem or just do what I do and put a few drops in the carb and it starts right up. It also has a small leak around the transmission pan gasket. The interior is in good shape for being original. The seats have the normal where and tear, small hole or tear here and there but are pretty good for original. I have the original owners manual and guide to off roading provided by Jeep at the time of purchase. I have some other original paperwork as well. This is a rare little Jeep and has been stored for a period of time prior to me buying it. I have went thru it to the best of my abilities and put over one thousand mile on it. It rides out great, no play in the steering at all. It has been garage kept since I have owned it and never have taken it off road. THE GOOD: Its a 1985 CJ7 with under 60k miles on it mostly orignal with original paperwork. I have installed new carpet, new JVC cd player(with remote), 4 new speakers, new chrome mirrors, new front bumper(I have the original Laredo hoop bumper but it needs to be re-chromed), new 31x10.50 tires, new spare tire cover, new brakes, new wheel cyl, new exshaust, new muffler, new chrome side steps, and completely recoated the undercarriage. THE BAD: Needs the following: Rear glass for the hardtop, carb rebuild kit, fix dent under license plate and transmission pan gasket. If you are looking for a really nice CJ to start with and do not want to pay the outrageous price of a perfect one, then this is the jeep for you. It is in overall good condition for its age but needs some small fixes as mentioned above. The reserve is set low for this type of Jeep so bid away. The black paint you see in the floorboard area is anti-rust paint that I put on any area that showed any surface rust or where the paint was wore off. The area was first sanded and then painted. No repairs have been done to the floor of this jeep. I also have the original chrome rear bumpers which are in great shape.
