Vehicle Detail
Here is my 1992 Chevy Suburban. The only reason that it is being sold is because the transmission is acting funny. The truck runs well, it has been in the family for a long time. Originally purchased in Virginia beach by my sister then I purchased it and we used it as our primary vehicle. The truck had an accident in 1999 in downtown Chicago on Chistmas day, we ran the passenger corner of our bumper into the left front of a Toyota Camry. The Camry blew a red light. We drove the Suburban home the Camry was totalled. The insurance replaced the bumper, hood, windshield wiper motor, fender and some suspension parts. It has driven very well ever since. NO ACCIDENTS SINCE THEN. New parts this year include, starter, rear passenger window, rear tailgate glass, tires, brake line and rear portion of exhaust. The engine starts and runs well. Rear seal leaks. 4 WHEEL DRIVE WORKS GREAT! Carpet in truck looks bad due to using the truck for my carpentry business over the last 2 year. I HAVE A BRAND NEW CARPET THAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE PURCHASE OF THE SUBURBAN!! The tires on the truck are very good HANKOOK tires with about 90% of the tread left. The rear hatch glass was replaced because one of my kids shattered it with one of my tools. As you can see in the pictures there is surface rust, paint bubbling and some dents and dings. (19 year old vehicle) The drivers side front rocker panel is rusting through on the bottom. I HAVE A BRAND NEW ROCKER PANEL FROM JC WHITNEY THAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE TRUCK. There is a big dent on either side rear quarter panel from a run in with my utility trailer, 2x. There is a very good hitch/ towing package on the truck too. A friend of mine who is a GM mechanic told me that the transmission's friction material needs to be replaced, that's why it is having difficulty engaging into Drive. REVERSE WORKS GREAT, you have to build up RPMs to get it to go forward in DRIVE. This trans problem just began in December, I wold be keeping the truck if it was working properly. Truck has power everything, rear heat and AC, AC hasn't worked sice last year, third row seat, owners manual, GM manual, clear title and keys. AM/FM cassete, cruise doesn't work. 4 wheel drive works great. Suburban is sold as is, no warrantee is expressed or implied. Truck my be able to be driven home, but probably should be trailered. Starts and runs fine, transmission issue. On Jan-30-11 at 15:04:03 PST, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention, there is a 3 inch long crack at the bottom corner of the windshield on the passenger side. It is not in the drivers field of vision, but I needed to mention it.
