The engine alone is worth the starting bid. Please read on. This auction is for a 1997 Caddy Deville. It has 186,400 miles on it. The engine and transmission are in great shape. I had the head gaskets done by a Caddy specialist at North Star Automotive in Ansonia CT at apx 145,000 miles. The car is at the shop in Ansonia now. The head bolt holes were ALL drilled, tapped and inserts installed. This was done to both heads, I was at the shop when this was done so I am positive that all holes have been repaired correctly. The engine runs great and the transmission still shifts like it is a new car. The engine will need some external parts to run perfect, one of the coil packs skips sometimes and will need to be replace eventually and the fuel pressure regulator will need to be replaced also. But the vehicle runs and drives fine right now. The car has a few problems and these are listed below, as well as some body damage as shown in pics. 1 The fuel guage doesn't read correctly under 1/3 of a tank. 2 The rear air ride is not pumping up and the vehicle sits very low in the rear. 3 The check engine light is on due to a bad relay for the cooling fan, I have a temporary fix on the car now to make cooling fans come on. 4 The drivers door window switch is broken, again as shown in pics I have a temporary repair on this. 5 The drivers door lock actuator is broken and needs to be replaced. 6 There is damage to both front and rear bumper covers see pics. 7 There is a large dent in the right rear door see pics. 8 There are scratches and dings all over the car. 9 The interior is filthy and needs a major cleaning. 10 The stereo has a crack but it works good see pics. 11 the tires and rims are all good some pealing on the rims. 12 The spare tire is a full size and same design rimsee pics. 13 The tires have only about 5,000 miles on them and have plenty of life left. 14 The Sway bar links and or bushings are noisy. This is a great deal for someone who owns a Deville in good shape that needs an engine and or transmission. The head gasket job was over $2500.00 alone. I put new front pads and rotors on it this year also. I have always used Mobile1 oil in the vehicle since I bought it (around 115,00 miles) I work all over new england and drive at least 20,000 to 30,000 miles per season, all highway miles. I will also offer to remove the engine and tranny from the vehicle for the winning bidder, if you want the engine and tranny only not the whole car, but you must arrange crateing and shipping, I will not discount the price for this. North Star auto can also do a complete engine/tranny swap for the winning bidder at your cost with the shop owner. The vehicle is in Ansonia CT and can be heard running or driven around the lot untill i.t is sold. I prefer local pick up but will ship if you need it and YOU set up the shipping.
