Today I am listing the last of the big finned Cadillacs. This 1964 Cadillac Coupe DeVille was parked in the 1980's when the owner enlisted in the military. About a year ago the owners father put the car up for sale because he is selling the farm and the son is now in Washington DC and decided to sell it rather than have it moved. I purchsed the car and washed it, did some basic tune up including plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, condenser, etc. The car does run nicely and the brakes work great. It does need some more mechanical work though before it can be driven. The radiator has a leak and so does the gas tank. Both should be repairable by a radiator shop. I also believe the transmission front seal is leaking. The transmission does operate, but will leak after sitting in the same place. The front tires both have a leak in them, but they do hold air to be able to load on your trailer. The rear tires have always held air. The body of this car is in nice shape with very little rust (see pics). There is also evidence of previous damage to the front passanger fender that will need repaired again. The front bumper was damaged as well and never repaired before I bought the car. Since I bought the car I have purchased an excellent used bumper that will go with the car. The interior of the car will need redone. Everything is there but the seats and carpet shoud be recovered and replaced. This car also has the twilight sentinel headlights and they do work. This is one of my favorite cadillacs and I love the body style. I have been debating a long time on restoring this car but have burried myself in a 68 S&S hearse that is taking all of my attention so I am going to list this car. This car will have a reserve and I will not sell it for any offers. If you want the car you will have to bid on it, meet the reserve, and be the highest bidder. Also if you do not have the money to pay for the car within 7 days of the end of the auction do not bid on the car. This car is in my garage in Farragut, Iowa 51639 and will remain inside until the car is picked up. I would like to have the car picked up within 14 days, but I understand if you are having it shipped it usually takes longer, but the sooner it can be picked up the better. This car can not be driven and will need to be trailered. This will make a really nice cruiser with not a lot of work. The first 16 pictures of the car were just taken this fall. The others show the car in the barn, what it looked like when we had it out, and how fantastic it looked with a simple wash after all those years of sitting.
