Up for auction is my 1951 Chevrolet 2-door hardtop coupe. This car was recently taken out of long term storage. It is very solid, straight and mostly complete. The only thing missing on the car is the original hubcaps. The sheet metal is very straight and solid including the floor pans, sills and trunk pan. The only rust that has been detected is a three inch long area along the top of the drip rail of the trunk opening, (see pictures) and a similar size spot under the rubber door seal on the passenger door. Neither of these areas are visible when the trunk lid and doors are shut and are an easy fix. There is also a small area approximately 2 inches square located on the right rear quarter panel that seems to be thin for some reason. I deduced that it may have been due to some prior body work. The rest of the car has some minor surface rust and flaking paint but is very solid and straight with no signs of other body work. The glass is in tack but most will have to be replaced but the rear is near perfect!. All of the stainless and chrome is there and very restorable. The running gear is all stock with the 216 straight six and powerglide automatic transmission. The engine runs and sounds good. The transmission goes into gear but I am not sure of its condition due to the fact that the brake system is currently not functional. The wheels are original including the spare. The tires hold air but will need to be replaced. The original gas tank was removed for inspection and found to be solid but in need of cleaning and sealing. A small temporary gas tank has been installed so that the engine can be started. The car has a clear Oregon title.
