Here you found my 1983 Mercedes 300CD 2 door coupe . Mercedes only built 8007 of these gorgeous cars with a diesel engine and a lot less with the turbo version . This car was finished in midnight blue ( MB color code 904 " Dunkelblau" ) with palomino color MB-tex interior . The body is in wonderful condition . There are no dings dents or scratches . The blue color often looks almost black and it shines like new . The interior is also very well preserved , as the many pictures will show . There are no rips or tears in the seats and the carpets and door-panels are clean . Also the wood is still very beautiful . I just recently fitted a set of new Mercedes floor-mats . I do get a lot of compliments on the exterior and the interior of this car . Many people can not believe that it is 28 years old .  But the best thing is the way it drives . This car has always been maintained very well and it shows . The last mayor service was done in November of last year . All the fluids and filters were changed and the valves were adjusted . This car always starts up right away and it drives great . It does have the turbocharger and has plenty of power . It is not slow and cruises with 85-90 mph on the freeway all day long while still getting 27 miles per gallon of diesel .  It does have the lines and the sturdy build of a classic Mercedes while featuring all the amenities of a much more modern car . It comes with power-windows, power sunroof, power door locks , power mirror , cruise control and air-conditioning . It is one of the few classic cars , you can drive every day and not think twice about it . These car are known to go for over 500k miles with the right maintenance . There are several Mercedes diesel from this era on Ebay right now with over 400k miles and driving well .  This engine is also the perfect candidate for Bio diesel conversion , where you can drive it on vegetable oil or free waste oil from restaurants . I have never tried it , but with gasoline prices where they are today , it sure sounds like a great idea . But since there are not that many coupes in that condition around anymore , it would also make a very practical long term investment .
