2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4x4 PICTURES: http://crossmember.shutterfly.com/ MOVIES: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGQZG6EZzu8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spiV6oEH-lE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qfx_LXmSV0k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gqal370GR8c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hevZCbtrsU HISTORY: - I purchased on ebay ~ 2 years ago from a dealer in San Luis Obispo - The truck was a good price as it didn’t smog, the check engine light was on. The dealer bought it from an auction where it had been a government truck, from Union Pacific, one of the trucks with the hydraulic wheels that drop down that runs on the train tracks! - I had a new Flowmaster muffler welded on. I installed a new charcoal canister and two new knock sensors (common for 6.0s, water flows to the valley between the heads and eventually pools and rusts out the two sensors. I replaced both, even though only one was bad and I siliconned the heck out of it so that it wont rust again.). Smogged in CA great two years ago. I am not smogging it this time, it should pass, no worries but I’m selling this as is where is. I can show paperwork from the last smog. - I used this as my go to home depot and to mexico truck. I go to the desert with an atv and use 4x4 a lot. I high centered it and bent the transmission cross member and got a leak. I replaced the crossmember myself and spent ~$800 for a local mechanic to fix the leak. Then I did it again (bent the cross member). I replaced the crossmember myself and tried to fix the leak myself. It still leaks transmission fluid. It leaks from between the transmission and transfercase. See the videos. Runs and drives fine, a little vibration on the driveline but see the videos. MECHANICAL: - Overview o 6.0 V8 gas o 4L80 Transmission o 2 Speed Manual Transfercase o 14 Bolt rear end o 4x4 o 241000+ miles o Recent (since I had it) § K&N Air Filter (See pic) § Flowmaster muffler § 2 engine knock sensors § New crossmember § New transmission to transfercase adapter (but it leaks) § Spark Plugs (~5k miles ago, platinums) § Routine Maintenance) § Front brakes § Sony CD player w/remote, USB (hook up your ipod!!), AUX § New front and rear speakers - Extras o 7 total rims/tires o 5 tires hold air, 2 do NOT o 4 rims are 17” alloys from a GM Hummer 2 o 3 rims are 16” steel stock rims o New engine belt - Rating o Engine = 10 of 10 for this mileage, no issues, runs o Tires = 2 of 10. 5 of the tires hold air but they are all bad condition, bad tread. o HVAC = 10 of 10. AC and heat work great! o Transmission = 5 of 10. It works fine, but it leaks o Transfercase = 7 of 10. Works OK but hard to engage 4 Lo. To be honest, I have never had an issue until this time when I did the video, so for full disclosure o Interior = 5 of 10. Tears on vinyl interior, roll up window handle on driver side missing pin that keeps it on, window goes up and down but handle shakes off…CD Radio ipod thing works great. Radio doesn’t get am/fm reception very well. Airbag light is on, not sure why, it hasn’t deployed or anything. o Exterior = 5 of 10. Functional but dents, scrapes, rust, weld slag, etc. EXTERIOR - Rack o I made the rear rack, its cool. It had a rear bar that goes up to level with the front headache rack or low profile or comes out all together. It also had tiedown points that click in/out on all four sides of the bed. Great for securing loads. o Painted with krylon. I repaint it every few months. I didn’t know about the Rustoleum “Rusty Medal Primer”. I use that for everything now but didn’t for anything on this truck, so the medal does rust and I just shake the can and repaint. - Sliders o I made these, I offroad, didn’t want to crunch the doors up. Welded to frame. - Front Bumper o I made it, has two big tow hooks, two light tabs and two bolts for securing a hilift jack. It also had a 2” receiver hitch. Use it for whatever, such as a front hitch to back a trailer in!. - Rear Bumper o I made it, has two big tow hooks, 2” receiver hitch for towing. - Lights o 6 of 10. The DS rear light doesn’t work. The light housing leaks and rusts out the connection. You can sand it out and it works until the next rain. Spend the $60 and get a new housing. o Front lights are pitted, they work fine but aren’t pretty. - PAINT o Its been a work truck, its got dents, scratches, etc. o There is a hole where wires went through on the DS rear near the bed on the cab, see pictures, I took a photo of it. INTERIOR - Seats o Vinyl o Some Tears o Manual o Back seat flips up for cargo - Floor o Vinyl o Dirty - Headliner o Has a hole, see video, there was a radio mounted up there. MISC So, there it is. This is a work truck. Its located in Valley Center, CA (San Diego). Sold WHERE IS, AS IS. Does it run? Yes, watch the video. Would I buy it and drive it home 250 miles away? Yes, but I have AAA and know how to turn a wrench. Big thing is that I’d have a jug of automatic transmission fluid with me. Dont ask me "Will it make it to Chicago?" I dont know. I recently bought a much more expensive truck on ebay and it died on the way home and I got it fixed and I'm ok. You may get all the way across country, it may die down the street. I have no idea. Its cheap, so you are getting a great deal, but theres risk with cheap that it needs repair sooner than you'd like. I just did the videos for this and it runs/drives but I'm being honest that there is a leak and a mild driveline vibration. Do not talk about international stuff, I'll consider that a scam. I dont care what you do with the truck after you buy it but if you mention that you are buying it to ship to Spain, I'm going to assume its a scam. Just be normal or dont bid. I am good with email, not with the phone. Email me and I will respond. Dont ask for my telephone number, I've been scammed and burned. After the sale and you've paid made payment, we'll get on the phone if you prefer but until then, we'll stick to email. Sorry it has to be that way, its just weird all the people out there trying to scam honest folks. SHIPPING None. Come get it within 14 days of auction close. Communication is key, if you have paid and need a few more days, that’s fine. PAYMENT Buy it now will require full payment at bid. If its not buy it now, pay the deposit ($500) and then the rest is due in 3 days of auction close via paypal. If you want to see it in person, use ebay and we’ll do just that. Also listed out of ebay, so I have the right to end the auction early if it sells local.
