FOR SALE or TRADE REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE!! This is a VERY nice 22 year old Corvette that is SURE to go up in value. Is it perfect? NO. Is is trash? NO. I do STRONGLY urge potential buyers to see the car prior to bidding. I am buying a new home, and have to cut down on some expenses. Unfortunately for me, I will have to sell this car and get a few bucks towards closing costs on the home. I might be interested in a partial trade of some sort. As far as trades, I can be as realistic about this car, as you can be about your trade. This is still MY BABY. No, it isn’t a midyear, a solid axle, or even a chrome bumper shark – BUT – if you graduated in 1988 and have always LOVED Corvettes, you have wanted this car for a while. If you want to wait a few years for a perfect one and spend twice the money - feel free. If you would like to get into a corvette that gets 20+ mph, and do a few things to it over time - YOU FOUND IT!!! We bought this car with intentions to hide it and keep it forever. It has ALWAYS run perfect, and had the oil and fluids changed regularly. I got it out of Charleston, SC from a retired US Air pilot. He gave me a 1 to 2 inch stack of paperwork that is included in a binder that contains a window sticker, build sheet, and other receipts, etc. for the car. The car had around 72K when I bought it, and it currently has 76K. The Mobil 1 Synthetic and filter has still been changed every 6 months. They ONLY made about 2050 of these cars. The Z-01 option was $4795.00 in 1988. My price is A LOT LESS than half of the option price. And if you are a collector or enthusiast, you are looking because of this option. CONDITION: PAINT: I would estimate the paint to be very good on the entire car with the exception of the hood. The hood does not have the gloss that the rest of the car has. This is only on the top of the clamshell. The sides are as good as the rest of the car. If I was going to keep it, I would have this taken care of. The black roof panel made require buffing, and shows minor scratches. An inspection of the car also noted some nicks here and there, and some paint peeling along the centerline rub strip. This is something that could be taken care of with some touch up. If I was going to buy it to keep, I would enjoy the original paint everywhere else, do a little garage touch up, and have the clamshell taken care of (whether it be buffing or painting). BODY PANELS: All body panels have excellent fit and finish. Upon examination, I cannot see where the car has had ANY panel replacements. I have a CARFAX from when I bought it, giving it a CLEAN bill of health. The inspection noted panels fine as well INTERIOR: The interior is unbelievable for a 22 year old car. It is NOT PERFECT, and is just not showing age. It is original, and beautiful. There is some wear to the seats, but NO TORN SEATS. The leather is old, and even after good care over 20 years, it is getting hard, but not bad enough to merit new seat covers at this time. The 6 way positioning of the seats works fine, but the bladders will need replacing for the lumbar adjustments. The door panels are fair to good. There has been some separation over the years, but they have been repaired, and look very nice. The carpet is EXCELLENT, and looks like new. There are covers over the door sills to protect it. I have a OEM NEW IN BOX set of anniversary floor mats, along with the straight black set inside the car. The only other problems noted would be that the hood release latch is broken. The hood can be released relatively easily. The part is available for $36, but I have not had the opportunity to fix it. The inspection crucified the car here. Please look up the part and see what I'm talking about here. If I would have downgraded the interior for anything, it would be old leather (not torn), and old door panels. They are still showable in my opinion, but were not even mentioned in the inspeciton. ELECTONICS: Everything works on the car. The windows and locks are fine. The defrost is fine. The heat and AC are fine. The AC has been converted, and blows cold. The electric mirrors work fine. There is a CD player that has excellent fit and works fine. The center dash electronics are fine. The LCD displays all are perfect with the exception of the Speedo and Tach. They were diagnosed as sunburnt. Replacement LCD's are $99 each. The Speedo is still somewhat legible. This is the greatest deterent to me. However, you can look here and anywhere to see what the speedo's would cost to have replaced. TIRES: All four tires are in GREAT shape. The only problem is that a right rear was replaced and it is a mismatch. Could not find the BF Goodrich TA Comps to match, so I got the closest GOOD tire I could get for $200. It is a Michelin. The tire was replaced because the valve stem failed in the winter, and it sat on the flat unnoticed. Why take a chance? BOTTOM LINE: This is a GREAT car for the money, and one of FEW C-4's that will retain and gain value. It gets great gas mileage, and has been pampered. It is 23 years old, and DOES have flaws. The price listed is my bottom price. I have reduced the price due to the clamshell paint, leather age, hood latch, and LCDs. If you want a deal to drive RIGHT NOW, and gradually fix up, then you have found it. If you want to pcik apart a 23 year old car, find another one. TRADES: I'm definitely interested in partial trades, so feel free to email me with pics and details. I LOVE firearms and even the crapiest of 1967 Camaros! Please only email if the trades are REALISTIC, and will equate to the advertised price. If you want ANY specific pics of the car that you do not see, please let me know, and I will send them. Please feel free to email with ANY questions or REALISTIC offers. I can provide anything you need. PLEASE SEND PICS OF FIREARMS FOR PARTIAL TRADES.
