This is a very rare car. Runs, looks and handles great. Good luck going to Home depot (or anywhere for that matter) without getting stopped and admired. You will have to listen to someone in just about every parking lot tell you about memories you just made them remember. I have done everything I could do to this car in one day projects at my work (local automotive dealership) or at my condo. My next step was some minor body work and rebuilding this engine. I have been putting it off until I owned a house, but that doesn’t seem to be happening any time soon. It's been fun, but it's time for me to let her go. I want to say "My Loss is your gain", but I don't feel it's a loss. I've had a lot of great times with this car, it's just time to let someone else enjoy it like I have. I really am looking for the right owner for this car that will appreciate everything it has to offer. Here's the story...The car came with customer gauges, Hurst floor shifter, HEI distributer and owners manual. I added air conditioning and power brakes (front disc) as soon as I bought it. Best of all, I think, is the 700r4 transmission that I installed about a year ago also. It has overdrive and a lock up converter. I installed the wiring so you can choose to have lockup in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears or just in overdrive. The torque converter is set up to automatically unlock under acceleration with a switch on the throttle peddle. It is so nice to drive on the highway with this new transmission. 70mph at 1900rpm! I got 18mpg to LA and back the last 2 times I went to training up there. It’s 202 mile round trip with just over 11 gallons of fuel. Like I said, “daily driver”. I replaced all the front ball joints and bushings a little over a year ago. After I finished the suspension, I installed new BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. I installed a larger front sway bar and added a rear sway bar. It really handles amazingly for a car of this vintage. I have been using it to pull my boat for about 2 years. Just add some air to the rear air shocks and it can haul just about anything you want. This car goes up La Cresta hill pulling a 16 foot fiberglass boat like it’s nothing! I replaced the over sized carburetor for the correct size Holley 4175 spread bore (650 cfm, vacuum secondary’s and electric choke) to match the Edelbrock aluminum intake. It starts and runs great in all temperatures and really matches the motor well. I replaced the 2 chamber mufflers with some real nice sounding 3 chamber Flowmasters. Still wasn't completely happy with the sound so I added a crossover pipe and now it sounds awesome. Added large diameter Accel wires with header boots. The interior is in very good condition, but still all original. The front seat vinyl got its first crack about a year ago so I covered it. The back seat is in great condition. The left front door panel is the only on with a hole in the vinyl all the other 3 are in great shape. The headliner is also in real good condition. The dash has a crack and the front kick panels are missing. All interior parts seem to be available on-line. Replaced the stereo (didn’t have the original) with a Bluetooth, HD radio receiver, CD/MP3/USB player. It sinks up to your Bluetooth phone as soon as you start the car for hand’s free. The microphone is built into the deck, so there aren’t extra cords hanging around. It will also stream any music from your phone, even Pandora radio. The front doors have component speakers with crossovers in the doors and I have a small speaker box with 2-6 ¼s in the back. I have a small amp and subs installed now too. I have it wired for 3 amplifiers (front, rear and sub) and had a full system installed until about 6 months ago when I put it in my wife’s car. It does not have the 3rd row seat option, but it does have the huge compartment where that would go. This is where the spare really goes. I have a full sized spare in the right quarter panel that can go in the rear storage, but I have stuff for my boat under there, so I keep it in the quarter panel. I do have the panel that goes in the right quarter panel interior. The gauges are new and the odometer says about 37,000 miles. I call it 137,000, but it could be much less. Given the condition, I really don’t think it’s more. Did I mention you can fold down the back seat and lay 4’ by 8’ sheets of plywood flat and still close the back!!! I’ve done it many times. Most wagons were destroyed in demolition derbies, but this one escaped. I bought this car for $8,500 about 4 years ago and have added over $4,000 in upgrades. This price is very reasonable, but still negotiable.
