Vehicle Detail
~~oo00oo~~ Jaguar Vanden Plas 1986 Very original & complimentary condition This is a very pretty Jaguar Vanden Plas finished in Antelope with buck-skin leather. It is indeed a very well looked after example that is totally original in presentation. It displays very nicely as evidenced in the photos. The Vanden Plas was distinguished from its siblings by the individual styled seats (including semi-bucket rear seats), unique burl-walnut wood with added wood in the centre console and teak fine lines on the door cappings, additional chrome, additional courtesy lights and all options on lesser models as standard equipment. This example was from a deceased estate, well cared for by its senior owner. It was his “baby” and all service and repairs were done as required. The interior is in impeccable condition with the burl walnut perfect without any of the typical cracking seen on these cars. The seats are still soft and supple and the carpets clean and undamaged. A new cd-stereo was fitted last year. The paint is shiny and consistent with the odd minor blemish here and there but overall, in well above average condition having been painted in its original color some 8 years ago. At a scale out of 10, I would rate the paint as an easy 8. Mechanically the car is sound with good tires sporting plenty of tread. A new alternator, ignition wires, ball joints, rear bearings were installed along with a general service carried out. Although showing 150,000 miles it looks every bit a 50,000 mile example. It is that nice. The A/C blows cold and heater nice and toasty. All windows and instruments are in working condition. This Jaguar has installed the “correct” headlights as designed by Jaguar for the UK and world markets. This is how the manufacturer intended the car to look and I am sure most would agree. Please see the detailed photos in the photo link. These lights are factory OEM Jaguar lights removed from, coincidentally, a 1986 Vanden Plas from the United Kingdom. The North American lights can be converted back if so preferred. This is a very nice Jaguar which makes for an excellent everyday or weekend driver. It far exceeds average condition examples and comfortably rates an 8 out of 10 which earns it regular compliments. Please see additional photos at the link below. Click HERE to see additional photos! I am not a broker or retail car dealer; I am a professional car collector of some 25 years with considerable experience and knowledge of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars. I have a long standing reputation being associated with the marque which I take seriously. I take a lot of pride in all my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer, and you are the winning bidder, please understand you have entered a binding contract. You cannot bid and win the auction and expect not to meet the terms and conditions. Bidding and/or winning does not mean you are expecting me to “hold” the car until you have the opportunity to inspect it. Any inspection contemplated should be undertaken BEFORE you bid of make an offer. You are bidding and/or making offers to buy WITHOUT conditions. A $1000.00 deposit (non-refundable) will be required within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal. The balance of funds are required within 7 days of the close of the auction and must be provided by cashier’s check or bank wire. I cannot accept PayPal for the balance unless you are willing to meet the cost of transfer fees. Full payment must be made (and payments cleared) before the title and/or the vehicle is released. If all the funds are not received as indicated above, I reserve the right the keep the deposit and resell the vehicle by re-listing or to another bidder. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements on a worldwide basis but the winning bidder takes full responsibility for pickup and/or shipping and at his cost. As a collector and experienced collector of British cars, I make every effort to bring my cars to a very high standard and in the case of this "near-new" example, maintain it accordingly. With every effort I make I am, afterall, only human and unfortunately it is necessary for the following condition: The vehicle is being sold "as-is/where-is" with no warranty expressed, written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are made with reasonable judgment and all efforts are made to ensure fair assessment and accuracy but they are for descriptive and identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be responsible for errors in description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, unforeseen imperfection, defect or damage. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have satisfied himself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects at the buyer’s request prior to the close of the auction. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. Being a classic car in excess of 10 years of age, in most US states, the mileage may be recorded as “exempt”. In this regard the seller makes no warranties as to the accuracy of the mileage indicated or shown. I can hold the vehicle up to 30 days while you arrange shipping but you must immediately insure it. I will not bear any responsibility for any additional costs including storage, transportation, or repair after the close of the auction. Whereas I am happy to store the car in excess of 30 days from auction end, a cost of $35 per day shall apply beyond 30 days of auction end. As for driving this vehicle home, I would consider it a bit of a shame to risk stone chips and road grime but this aside, I would have all the confidence to drive this across the USA. I would nonetheless recommend having it shipped in an enclosed truck to your home. PLEASE; IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS, DO NOT BID.. ~~oo00oo~~
