Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a single-owner 1999 Firebird Trans Am with T-tops. This bird carries the WS-6 option package which provides the 320 hp version of the all aluminum LS-1, 5.7 liter V-8 with Ram Air. Even better, this is a 6-spd manual with the Hurst shifter and limited slip differential. We are talking some serious "Go" here, but being a Pontiac WS-6 you would expect nothing less. Polished chrome 17-inch WS-6 wheels set it off nicely. This highly optioned TA includes A/C, power windows, cruise control, power leather seats, and of course power brakes and steering. The good: the sheetmetal and all body panels are in excellent shape. Except for one year in Colorado Springs, this bird has spent it's whole life in the sunbelts of Florida and Tucson, Arizona, where the car is currently located. So there is absolutely no rust issues. The red paint is in excellent shape except for the hood, where the clear coat is failing. The charcoal grey leather interior is in good shape with a few exceptions (see "the ugly"). The dash has no cracks. The engine runs strong and the transmission shifts fine. The bad: this bird needs tires at all four corners. It needs a good cleaning and detailing inside and out. The radio/stereo is missing from the car. The A/C is inoperative, with the A/C pulley currently removed. The A/C did work, but squeaked a lot. The power steering pump is on its way out. There is a minor coolant leak, possibly in the coolant overflow tank. This bird has suffered one accident, a side impact that damaged the driver's side door and uni-body in the door area. This damage was repaired by a professional collision repair shop and now shows no trace of the damage. The ugly: the clearcoat on the hood is flaking off, so the hood will need a repaint. The rest of the sheet metal and paint is in very good condition. The interior needs a good cleaning and detailing. The dash cover is in good shape with no cracks. However, the driver's side door panel will need replacement. The drivers seat bottom is split and will need a new seat cover. This bird could also use a new carpet kit. All the glass is in good condition with no cracks. The power window in the driver's side door is partially operative, the window motor seems to be okay, the problem most likely is the window track. Due to the mileage and deficiencies mentioned above, the reserve for this TA has been set at a very reasonable level, not far below the "Buy it now" price. Win the bid for this WS-6 Ram Air Trans Am, add some new tires, replace some parts, do some cleaning and detailing, drop $700 to $1000 in a paint shop to have the hood repainted, and you will then have a very nice WS-6 Trans Am for much less than you see other examples advertised for. I am selling this TA for my nephew who just got married, has been rehired by the airlines as a junior pilot, and is moving to Chicago. He needs to buy a 'family car'. I am a Pontiac guy: 67 GTO, 2000 Grand Prix GTP, 2007 Solstice GXP, and at this reserve, I feel this is a lot of car for the money. If you are the high bidder or use the "Buy it Now" option, you must contact me by phone within 48 hrs of the sale or I will relist the item and issue the appropriate feedback. A $500 deposit must be received within 48 hours after the end of the auction (via PayPal), with the final balance due within 7days after the auction end. Final Payment by cashiers check is the only acceptable payment method. The deposit is non-refundable. If you don't have the money, please don't bid! The buyer is responsible for shipping. I will work with your shipper. The car must be picked up within a reasonable amount of time after the auction close. I will work with you if you hire a professional mechanic/inspector.
