Hello and thank-you for taking the time to look at my auction. Up for sale is my 1985 Mercedes Benz Turbo Diesel Sedan. I have had two of these Mercedes and recently sold my 81 (you can see feedback history) and now am selling my 85 to purchase a newer Mercedes. I will be as open and honest about anything you'd like to know, if you have a question that is not covered here please e-mail me and I will promptly get back with you. What I've done to the car: Had the valves adjustedNew Glow plugsNew Water PumpNew AC Condenser / Evaporator The Best about the Car: No leaks! This vehicle burns no oil, has no oil leaks, transmission, or water! Extremely good ride, this car cruises great from idle to 85+ mph just like it was new. Rust Free! There is no rust on this car at all. You can see I took a pic of the drivers side rocker panel, a very common rust location. It is rust free! Dent Free! The body is in exceptionally good shape, no dings or dents.Mechanically, this cars runs, starts, and operates like new. It truly is a very dependable automobile.Seats and carpet have no cuts. AC / Heat Works greatSound System, new MP3 CD with HD Radio, installed infinity speakers. Sounds great.Cruise control actually works perfectly! Outside Temperature gauge works perfectly!All windows, seats, lights, controls work perfectly!Transmission is smooth shifting works greatVery powerful car, have no problem on interstate or passing carsAll lights work great, high beam, low, turn, reverse, dashStarts right up even with very cold temperatures.All interior lights, glove box lights, cigarette lighters work. The Good: Paint job, the paint is faded in some areas but no scratches or damage. Interior, the dash is in really good shape but does have a crack in it from sun damage.Tires, are in very decent shape, still have plenty of tread left. What needs work: The wood grain on the rear passengers doors is cracked. (See in picture) Alignment, the cars steering wheel doesn't line up perfectly straight (even though the car drives straight)The sunroof needs a little workAgain, please if you have any questions please e-mail me, david@vanhoypc.com I will get right back with you. On Jan-16-11 at 08:38:49 PST, seller added the following information: Hello! I am been getting swamped with requests for more photos of the seats so I have added detailed pictures of them. These are some of the answers to some very common requests I am getting: I have been getting around 24-27 mpg with the vehicle.I drove the vehicle to St. Augustine FL last year, (longest trip I've made it in) around a 900 mile trip with no issues.The paint on the car may be more of a black than dark blue, (I've had many people come look at it and some say it is black). My color blindness doesn't help out. Again it will need a paint job if you want it to look new, the paint is faded in areas.I have had many people test drive the vehicle this weekend and I have found out that the air vents do not change from defrost to vents every time. I never messed with it but it appears to be hit and miss.I also had another person test drive it and after we went on a probably 30 minute drive, and let it idle for a while there was a very small drop of oil under the car. I keep this vehicle in my garage and it does not leak, I also change the oil every 3,000 and never have to add any in between. I had the oil changed last month, and haven't driven it in 3 weeks because of the snow, it was probably from that but I am being honest in what happened. Everyone that has driven it wants to see that the cruise control actually works and they are surprised that it does! Guess that's uncommon? Please Please be aware this vehicle is a 85 model! It mechanically runs great, has never given me any trouble at all, I have driven it everyday almost since I've owned it but is in no way perfect condition. One person that looked at it said the door squeaks! If you have any other questions please ask, I will be very honest. I want the buyer to be extremely happy, and have a easy transaction. Many people have asked me about accepting the full amount in pay-pal, that is fine but please be aware I have to wait until it posts into my bank account before you can pick up. (This is per e-bay rules I have read.) 3-4 business days from what I've read.Many people have asked me about a time frame in picking up the car, I am in no hurry for you to pick the vehicle up.
