Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible. The car is titled, plated, starts, runs, drives, was driven halfway across the country (Kansas to Georgia), used as a daily driver for a period, and now driven occasionally for recreational use. The car has a small block Mopar V8 340 engine, however, it is not an original 340 car (it is an original 318 car, but does not have the original 318 engine). The small block that is currently in is a 340 per the previous owner (I have not checked the block). The car runs strong and sounds great (I can send a video of the car running upon your request). Automatic trans with an on the floor shifter. The exterior is green and the interior is green, with the front seats being recovered in black (it matches pretty well, definitely does not “stand out” upon a quick look). The car needs a new convertible top; the back glass has separated from the top, along with some cracks, so it is not currently water-tight (needs to be garaged). The paint is flaking in places (like the front passenger side fender, see picture) and the car has rust. The rear quarters, behind the door pillars, and fenders (including in front of the doors) all have some form of rust and body filler. I say this to give an honest and worst case description prior to someone travelling several hundred miles only to be disappointed in the condition. The car runs great as is, and does not look bad as a “50-footer”, but she is definitely not a show-car and would require a substantial investment in body work to make her one. Then again, how many 1968 Convertible Barracudas are running around with small blocks these days? Start cruising in it today!!!!! The car comes with some spare parts, including new black seat cover for the back seat (to match the fronts), a new black cover for the convertible top well, green kick panels (since the originals were cut for speaker installation), a set of tan(?) headreats that need to be recovered or repainted to match the front seats, a new trunk mat liner, three sections of extra green vinyl material, and an extra set of wheel covers (versus the original "wire" wheel covers that came with the car). See photo of spare parts. Now for some administrative data. The buyer will be required to pay 10% of the final sales price within seven (7) days of auction end. I hate to do this, but I have run into a problem with “tire kickers” in the past. Final payment may be cash on pick-up, money orders or cashier’s checks sent in advance to allow for the funds to clear, or Paypal plus 3% to cover costs. The buyer must make all arrangements for pick-up. If you do not agree to the above terms, please do not bid. Reasonable offers will be considered. Good luck and thanks for looking.
