I am an ASE Master Mechanic, EVT Master Mechanic and a Fire Department Fleet Supervisor in Tucson, Arizona that just retired. This car has been my daily driver since March 2003. I found it sitting abandoned in a storage lot in California where it had been for 5 years. When I purchased it, it had 57000 miles showing and paperwork for tires and servicing in the glovebox that reinforced the mileage as accurate 57000 not 157000. I replaced all the brakes, struts, tires, belts and hoses. The timing belts were replaced at 70000. It has been serviced every 2500 miles since. During the almost 8 years I depended on it, it never refused to start or left me stranded. It has been the epitome of reliability. It does not use any oil between changes of 2500 miles. I converted the Air Conditioner to R134A and it is super cold on the hottest days the Arizona sun can put out in Tucson. Neither the Cruise Control nor the Tachometer work. They never have since I have owned the car. Everything else works as designed. I also installed an Alpine AM/FM/CD Stereo with 6X9 rear speakers. I can only verify the cars history for the 5 years it was in storage and the 8 years since I have owned it, but never in that 13 years has it seen any snow or salted roads. The body has NO rust anywhere. The rear strut towers are perfect. At sometime before I bought it it had front end damage and the front fenders, hood, bumper and grille were replaced. It does not wear tires or pull. 2 years ago a pickup scraped the right side and there are small dents from his tire in the 2 doors. See the pictures. The window wipe strips are totally hardened and cracked to the point of being useless from the sitting in the California sun. There are also small dents in the rear under the hatch. The interior has some wear, no tears or holes, but is totally presentable. It is a perfect candidate for BioDiesel, or SVO although as a mechanic I do not recommend SVO usage in anything as it gums up the rings and will cause premature engine failure. This car will make someone a very reliable daily driver. Remember it is 24 years old. In December I moved to South Carolina so that is where the car is located. You may come by and inspect it anytime with a little advance notice. It is for sale locally and I reserve the right to pull this listing if it does sell locally. I can possibly deliver it anywhere in the southern part of the country between South Carolina and Arizona ( I-10, I-20 or possibly I40 ) near the end of January for a reasonable fee of $0.25 per mile. A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction ending. If picking up locally then the balance can be paypal or cash only.
