Please Read All 1998 Nissan Frontier 4X4 Four cylinder 5 speed standard trans. Good things about the truck. The motor runs great with no smoke at start up or running. I am the second owner and the truck the first was meticulous about changing the oil every 3500 miles. There is a new alternator, new speed sensor, new windshield, new cap rotor and plugs, brakes are a year and half old, new brake lines from rear splitter to firewall, new tires, new back brakes and drums, new gas cap, and I replaced the rear bumper with a light gage “I” beam. The truck gets great mileage for a 4x4. I was getting in the neighborhood of 30mpg. The four wheel drive works and I had no trouble getting through the snow. This truck would be great truck for plowing small drives or getting around in bad weather. Bad things about the truck. There a few things wrong with the truck. It needs a new speedometer. The speed sensor was changed on the trans and the speedometer needs replacement for the instruments to function as per the trouble-shooting guild. The part is $290 plus $20 to transfer the mileage. This quote was from the Nissan dealer in Kingston, NY. The speedo went around 18 months ago and it had 112k. I must have put another 6-8 months on it before buying my jeep, and retiring it to farm duty. So all together I would say it has around 130k best guess. Another is the window switch on the driver’s side. I checked the window motor and it works when I bypassed the switch. I saw the switch on ebay for $75. The overhead covering is coming down and there is rust by the wheel wells and underneath. The tailgate release handle is broken but still works and the cables for the gate are broken. Last that I am aware of is the radio works but not good. There are dents on tail gate and body small but note worthy. I am listing the truck for ten days and encourage anyone interested in bidding to look at the truck before you bid. The truck is being sold AS IS and the reason I am selling is because I have 4 vehicles which all need work and this is the best one to sell, and put the money in the others. I got laid off and don’t have the cash to put into it before selling. I have more pictures and can take new ones if you need BUT again I will need time to forward them. I have a low reserve and it’s the time to sell 4x4’s so good luck. I hate to be hardcore but I’ve had problems in the past so here are the terms if you bid and win I am looking for 10% deposit within 48 hours then the balance within 5 days of sale. The truck has to be picked up with 14 days of sale or I will charge $5 a day for storage. The truck is not registered or insured, and after 21 days I will file an abandon vehicle report with the state and have it towed at your expense. This is because I don’t want to be responsible for the truck after sold. It’s not insured If you do not pay deposit within 48 hours I will relist and report you to ebay. If you pay deposit and do not pay balance within 6 days I will keep deposit and relist truck. Deposit will go to the cost of relisting and time lost.
