Vehicle Detail
This 1963 GT Hawk has automatic trans, power brakes, front disk brakes, power steering. Starts easily, runs and drives but should not be driven on the highway. Oil pressure is about 40 lbs when cold but drops slowly as engine warms to about 10 lbs. Reving the engine up a little brings the pressure up again. Engine sounds ok except for some lifter noise. Brakes do not release entirely but I am installing a new master cylinder and brake hoses to try to correct that problem. Brake shoes and pads are good. Transmission seems to shift up and down properly. Seats and headliner are very nice and radio is a stereo with cassette player from Studebaker International. Car is seriously rusty and needs a great deal of rust repair. Serious rust means trunk floor, floor pans body supports and other areas need replacement. I feel this car is a good candidate for restoration but not for the faint of heart. I bought it intending to restore it but after seeing it have decided it needs much more work than I am willing to tackle. Bidding starts at $1500 but there is no reserve beyond that.
