Vehicle Detail

I am selling a 1952 Jaguar Mark VII ( Mark 7 ). (Also included is a 1953 Jaguar Mark VII parts car.) Note: This auction was relisted on Saturday 1/1/2011 due to the extreme cold (subzero) weather that made it difficult for potential buyers to see the cars. Photos: The car on the trailer is the 1952 Mark VII. The next photo (top view) is a top view of a restored car. That photo is for reference only. It is not one of the cars that I am selling. The 1953 Mark VII parts car is the light blue car in the last photo. Also included is a hardbound original factory service manual. These cars are rare. From 1950 to 1957, less than 21,000 were built. Very few of these were exported to the US. Also included is a 1953 Mark VII parts car. Both cars are on my property in Spokane, WA. Both cars have clear Washington State titles. I have the titles in hand. Both cars are left hand drive and were built for the US market. Both cars have sun roofs. I bought them from an estate last year. The previous owner has started a restoration on the 1952. It is a very solid car with little rust. The 1953 has rusted out areas, but it is fixable. To read more about this model of Jaguar, click on these links: http://www.car-nection.com/jagbase/MKVII.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_Mark_VII The previous owner passed away after a long illness. He had prepared the 1952 for painting, and some of the body work was done. Windows, trim, etc. have been removed. I was told that the engine ran well. I have not tried to start it, but I put a battery in and it turns over easily with the starter. The interiors are in poor shape and will have to be restored. The 1952 is quite complete, with the original headlights, hood ornament, grill, gauges, etc. The engines appears to be the original engines. They are inline overhead cam 6 cylinder Jaguar engines. I am selling these cars because I currently have too many projects and too little time. Buyer will need to pay at least $500 by Paypal within 48 hours of purchase and will have to pay the total within 7 days (standard eBay terms). I can assist with loading and shipping if you cannot pick them up, but the buyer will be responsible for all the other details of shipping, including picking a shipper, paying for the shipping, insuring, etc. Email me if you need more information. Thanks for looking. On Dec-28-10 at 12:43:04 PST, seller added the following information: 12/28/2010 : 1. I have added a photo that shows both British headlights from the 1952 Mark VII. 2. There are two front bumpers, but no rear bumpers. 3. The 1952 has some extra interior wood trim that will be included. 4. This week, some snow slid off my shed and put a dent in the Green hood of the 1952 Mark VII, so plan on using the blue hood off the 1953 Mark VII for the 1952. On Dec-31-10 at 15:20:39 PST, seller added the following information: 12.31/2010 New photos were added. I also answered several questions. The battery which might be seen in one of the pictures does not go with the car. (That is my boat battery.) There is no battery in either car. Question & Answer Answered On Q: Hello, could you verify that the engine number matches the data plate on the car? Also, can you tell what the original color scheme was? I usually look where the tail light housings were. Thanks, Dec-31-10 A: I will post some new pictures. One shows the possible original color, which appears to be a light green with a silver sheen to it. That photo is of the inside of the driver's side front door. I found the data plate, which lists the engine number. I could not find a stamp on the engine. The service manual states that the engine number is on the right side of the engine above the oil filter. All that I saw was "Jaguar" and "3 1/2 Liter". (I had to remove the right front fender to see it better.) Photo will be posted of the right side of the engine. The service manual also states there is a stamping on the front of the cylinder head casting. I would have to pull the radiator to see that area, which I do not have the stamina to do. (It is 10 degrees F out now here now.) Q: Do you have both of the British headlamps for this car or just the one in the photo? Thanks. Dec-27-10 A: I have both. Q: are these cars equipped with automatic or manual transmissions? Dec-25-10 A: They have manual transmissions. Q: hello .does green car have bumpers. are door panels present on both cars. are the cars complete what parts are missing Dec-24-10 A: The green car has door panels. I believe the blue car also has door panels. The green car has a front bumper. I will have to go check for the rear bumper. The trim parts were removed and are inside the car. Most parts are on the Green car, including exterior chrome strips, door handles, windows, etc. Some parts are missing on one or the other of the cars. For example, I only found one air cleaner. The blue car is missing some engine parts. The blue car should be considered a parts car only. One was from the right side of the engine, on the upper middle of the block. The other is from the upper, rear casting. It is behind the rear spark plug. I was told that this engine ran well when parked at the body shop, but I cannot verify that. The engine turns freely with the starter. I pulled the spark plugs and all plugs had a uniform color to them. The engine of the 1953 probably has issues. The pan was taken off and is inside the car. On Jan-07-11 at 14:53:24 PST, seller added the following information: 1/7/2010 Several people asked about the glass. The blue car has all it's glass and I did not see any cracks or chips. The green car has all it's glass. The only problem I saw was a small crack in the driver's (left) side of the windshield. The windshield is in two pieces and the pieces are flat. These cars have a fairly cool feature. I believe it is called a pinafore. It was described to me as flag-type part that is between the front and rear doors. It's function it to drop down and signal turns. On Jan-07-11 at 15:00:12 PST, seller added the following information: The turn signals are called Semaphores.
