~~oo00oo~~ ~~oo00oo~~ Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow 1974 Only a few points short of show quality. 6 months warranty!* This is a beautiful example of one of the finest years for Silver Shadow. Finished in light Caribbean blue with hand-painted ivory lines and royal blue Connelly hides. This is a completely original 1 owner vehicle for over 30 years of its life with a very modest 70,000 miles (only ever owned by collectors since). It has been babied since new, been driven only on special occasions and has not seen any of the harmful elements. I know this car very well having owned it previously and sold it to a collector who has travelled little more than 1,000 miles in some 3 years. The car is now back in my stable and is just beautiful. Maintenance has been without compromise and as such this lady drives tight, smooth and effortlessly without any of the “signature” knocks and rattles so often present in the Silver Shadow series. It indeed drives as one should. The interior is 100% original. The leather is un-dyed and in its factory state. The carpets are unmarked without any wear or frays and are as new. The roof-lining boasts the same condition. The burr walnut interior paneling is stunning and all original. There are a couple of very minor chips in the driver’s doors (where the seat belt commonly hits) but is generally in very fine condition. Certainly, the dash and rear doors are virtually without any blemishes. **Please note: The Nardi Steering wheel is not included in the auction – it is available for sale separately if so desired. A standard steering wheel from this model will be fitted. The body is very straight and clean. The car was repainted some 8 years ago and was a high quality (and a high priced) job. It does have some very minor blemishes in the paint including the signature fine cracking at the "A" and "C" pillar bases where Rolls-Royce used the lead-wiping technique to join panels (the lead expands and contracts at a different rate to the steel work causing stress fractures in the paint) but these are not objectionable and only mentioned out of “clear and open disclosure”. The left rear door has an imperfection in the body-line under the door-handle (see photos) which the purist might want repaired but it is not an eye-sore by any means and as a driver can well remain. The new paint has been well-looked after and as such there is no stone chipping on the car including the front head-light apron (either side of the grille) - which is otherwise par for the course with all older Rolls-Royces. It presents consistently and high in luster. Bright-work and chrome is excellent without any blemishes, scratches, dents or marks. A sign of a well cared for vehicle. The glass through-out the car is very good with the exception of some slight milking of the laminate in the lower corners of the windshield (this is aging of the internal laminate – typical of older cars – and is cosmetic only. There are no leaks). The original Everflex vinyl roof has early signs of aging over the front and rear window. This will call for replacing in a few years (original Everflex tops are still available - $1,500 fitted - and I can arrange to have this done if so required) but is certainly not an immediate requirement. As you will see from the photos, including the close-ups, it presents very nicely. Mechanically the car is A-1. Meticulous attention to details has been maintained including fitment of factory issue Avon tires all round. These are an expensive tire (approx $500 each!) which are unmatched in providing Silver Shadows a quiet and smooth ride. All electrical features and options are operating properly. This includes gauges, windows, seats and lights. Even the under-bonnet light is working. Importantly, the air conditioning/heater climate control system all works well. With its original manual and presenting as a virtual 9-out-of-10 example this Silver Shadow would be hard to beat in overall condition and presentation. If you look closely at all the photos, detail items such as the tail-lights, chrome work, headlights, are simply like new. No pitting, cracks, crazing or fading but simply "crisp" new. It would take tens of thousands of dollars to take an "average" car to this condition. ~~ Overall, a beautiful condition, totally original Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow finished in stunning light Caribbean blue (rare for this model) makes it a very special example. Nothing to spend at all as daily driver or with minimal investment you have yourself a show car. It makes for a gorgeous “weekender” that you could take to your next RR meet with pride and joy. ~~ **Please note: I am a professional collector and experienced restorer and I have my own mechanical workshop with qualified craftsmen on hand. As a passionate collector of the marque I take great pride and pleasure in passing on any of my cars to its next owner (“caretaker”). In so doing, once this Rolls-Royce is sold, I will put the car back thru my workshop to ensure that it is mechanically sound and all major features and functions are operating as described. This will be performed after the sale and before delivery – at NO CHARGE. Who else selling a Rolls-Royce on eBay does this?! This provides the buyer the peace of mind to purchase with complete confidence. Please allow 7 days for this process. International bidders are welcome. ~~oo00oo~~ Many more photographs are available at the following link. I highly recommended you view these to best appreciate how fine an example this Silver Shadow is: Click HERE to see many individual photos FILMCLIP ~~oo00oo~~ This Rolls-Royce is part of my private collection. I am not a broker or retail car dealer; I am a professional car collector of some 25 years with considerable experience and knowledge of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars. I have a long standing reputation being associated with the marque which I take seriously. I take a lot of pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer, and you are the winning bidder, please understand you have entered a binding contract. You cannot bid and win the auction and expect not to meet the terms and conditions. Bidding and/or winning does not mean you are expecting me to “hold” the car until you have the opportunity to inspect it. Any inspection contemplated should be undertaken BEFORE you bid of make an offer. You are bidding and/or making offers to buy WITHOUT conditions. A $2000.00 deposit (non-refundable) will be required within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal. The balance of funds are required within 7 days of the close of the auction and must be provided by cashier’s check or bank wire. I cannot accept PayPal for the balance unless you are willing to meet the cost of transfer fees. Full payment must be made (and payments cleared) before the title and/or the vehicle is released. If all the funds are not received as indicated above, I reserve the right the keep the deposit and resell the vehicle by re-listing or to another bidder. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements on a worldwide basis but the winning bidder takes full responsibility for pickup and/or shipping and at his cost. As a collector and experienced restorer of the marque, I make every effort to bring my cars to a very high standard but the very nature of these classic Rolls-Royces is such that it is not always possible to attend to every single item, or perhaps I may have inadvertently overlooked an item. Further, a feature or function that is working perfectly one moment, may decide to play-up the next. After all, it is some 43 years old. For this reason it is necessary for the following condition: The vehicle is being sold "as-is/where-is" with no warranty expressed, written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are made with reasonable judgment and all efforts are made to ensure fair assessment and accuracy but they are for descriptive and identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be responsible for errors in description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, unforeseen imperfection, defect or damage. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have satisfied himself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects at the buyer’s request prior to the close of the auction. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. Being a classic car in excess of 10 years of age, in most US states, the mileage may be recorded as “exempt”. In this regard the seller makes no warranties as to the accuracy of the mileage indicated or shown. I can hold the vehicle up to 30 days while you arrange shipping but you must immediately insure it. I will not bear any responsibility for any additional costs including storage, transportation, or repair after the close of the auction. Whereas I am happy to store the car in excess of 30 days from auction end, a cost of $35 per day shall apply beyond 30 days of auction end. Also, you must remember that this is a classic +/-40 year old vehicle, and while it is up to you, I do not recommend that you just “hop in and drive it across the country”. At least, I have never done that. I have always professionally transported the cars from where I bought them to my home. PLEASE; IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS, DO NOT BID. * WARRANTY: This vehicle is being offered with a mechanical and electrical warranty with the "Buy it Now" price or as otherwise agreed at time of offer. This is applicable to parts and labour for the first 6 months from date of purchase. "Consumable items" such as brake rotors, brake pads, batteries, hoses, belts, tyres etc are exclusions (please ask for a full outline of items that may be excluded if you are not sure). All warranty work must be approved and carried out by the seller; Park-Ward Motors at our workshop facilities. Respectfully, it will be the buyer's responsibility to meet the cost of transporting the car to and from our facilities. If this is not a practical option, perhaps because of the vehicle's location, then, subject to prior arrangement, Park-Ward Motors will supply and meet the cost of parts to repair any item covered by the warranty to enable an independent repairer to perform the labour to repair the item at the buyer's expense. It is important to note in any such situation, it is a condition of the warranty that no work be engaged by another party until approved by the seller. I trust you understand this important pre-condition to maintain fairness under the warranty arrangement. This warranty has been designed to be fair and reasonable and is without any "fancy" or "tricky" exclusions. ~~oo00oo~~ "RRMOTORSINC": Qualified & experienced in Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars world-wide for 28 years
