Sold to eBay member Rbodoz who with a feedback score of more the 5,000 feels it is his right to change his mind..... oh sigh! 29,900 miles ~~oo00oo~~ ~~oo00oo~~ Jaguar Vanden Plas 2002 Totally original & simply "as-new" condition with amazingly low miles! This is a "like-new" last of the model run Jaguar Vanden Plas finished in Zircon (light blue) over light cream Connolly hide leather with taupe accents on the dash, door cappings and seat piping. This Vanden Plas has been my personal car since 2006 and has travelled only some 3,000 miles since then and now showing 29,900 odd miles*. I am the second owner. The Vanden Plas is the long wheel base version of the XJ series and represents the top of the line in luxury for Jaguar in its year. It is indeed a very well looked after example that is totally original in presentation and, in fact, displays nicer in real-life than you see in the photos. The Vanden Plas was distinguished from its siblings by the individual styled seats, full leather interior (including door arm-rests, map-pockets console, etc), unique burl-walnut wood and teak fine lines with the “Vanden Plas” logo brass inlaid on the dash. It has rear seat picnic tables, full length console to the rear, additional chrome, additional courtesy lights, all of which are unique fitments to the Vanden Plas series. The Vanden Plas also has rear passenger controls to the front passenger seat to allow movement of the seat to provide even more rear space. The Vanden Plas is already 4" longer than the standard sedan, so rear leg room is huge. The interior of this example is in impeccable condition with the burl walnut absolutely stunning without any fading or blemishes. The clear lacquer finish on the wood has only 1 small hairline mark on the front passenger door (hardly noticeable but mentioned out of "clear disclosure") but is otherwise perfect. The Connolly hide leather seats are factory condition soft and supple with no stains, wear marks or tears. The headlining is all good with no “drooping” which is otherwise typical of the model. There are no cracks in the dash or rear parcel shelf and the steering wheel is perfect with no wear. The interior even smells "brand new" The paint is absolutely 100% original without a single scratch or mark. It is very shiny and consistent so it basically presents like show-room condition. At a scale out of 10, I would rate the paint as an easy 9.999. Mechanically the car is completely sound. Please look at the photos of the engine bay and you will see it is in pristine condition. It has NOT been detailed for the sale process but always looked after like this - you could eat your dinner of it it is so clean! The car drives smooth, strong and quietly - running on Michelin tyres with plenty of tread. The A/C blows cold and heater nice and toasty. Every single instrument, feature and function are in working condition. This is an immaculate Jaguar Vanden Plas with such low miles it basically presents as a "new car" and makes for an excellent everyday or weekend driver. It far exceeds average condition examples and comfortably rates as a virtual 10 out of 10 driver condition which earns it regular compliments. Not only has it not seen snow and salt, but quite literally never seen a freezing winter! The first and only previous owner purchased the car new for private use in Nashville Tennessee where winters are not a problem. Since my purchase, the car has been stored in a special climate controlled garage attached to my home and has never left its store from the months of November thru April. I am father of two young children and in my entire ownership, I have never had my loved ones in the car. My wife was also prohibited from driving her - not very nice, I know, but it has contributed to the cars preservation!! ** Please note: the 1976 XJ12L Jaguar has been SOLD and is no longer available** (This Vanden Plas was being offered in concert with a virtual show class 1976 XJ12L sedan. The 2 cars are “mirror-images” of their respective years and would have made a fantastic collection as a pair. Some might say fulfilling the adage for the 1976; “One to drive whilst the other is in for repairs”. Others, as a symbolic set of “book-ends” to parenthesize a fantastic era for Jaguar motor cars. It would have been lovely to see these 2 cars being purchased as a pair as part of a collection. As it turned out, the XJ12L has been purchased by a collector and will soon be on its way to a private museum.
