Hello, I am selling my '92 Lexus SC400 with about 138,300 miles. While this car runs, I believe it to be a good project car or parts car. Will describe the issues below. I needed a more reliable car for my new job which requires a Chicago to Naperville commute each day. THE CAR IS LOCATED AT MY PARENT'S HOME IN BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS. The winning bidder will need to pickup the car from this location. Known issues: · Does not start when car sits for more than a 5 days - battery is less than a year old. Alternator is fine according to mechanic. I pulled the fuse on the amp which results in no radio, but less battery drain when the car sits. · AC does not work · There is some smoke coming from the engine. Believe the mechanic said it was something with seals. · Front bumper is damaged - covered it up with a bra · Driver-side side mirror has crack · Passenger window does not roll down. · Hood has a dent (some idiot backed into my car while it was parked infront of my apartment in Chicago) · Right rear fender has a dent (another idiot hit my parked car in Chicago) · There are a few areas with some rust · Trunk struts are shot (pretty heavy trunk with the spoiler by the way) - see plenty of struts for sale on eBay · Rims are American Racing and tires (3) are Yokohama's with plenty of tread left. One tire was punctured and the tire shop put on the full size spare tire. That tire tends to leak slowly and needs a pump every two weeks or so. Basically the salt has corroded the chrome on the rims so the seal is not good. · Radio is Nakamichi. Not sure if sub works since it's not hooked up. Other speakers are JBL and Infinity (replaced them a few years back). I must admit, the sound system was rigged up by a friend in an adhoc fashion. Eclipse amplifier in the trunk included. Original CD changer not included. · Driver’s seat torn up pretty good and duct-taped. · Needles are burnt out on instrument panel · One of the blinker lights should be replaced soon · That’s all I can think of...If I can think of anything else, I’ll update this list J Other info: · I’ve replaced the oil regularly since owning the car since 2006 (at 117,000) · Replaced the alternator and power steering rack ($1100) within last two years (fixed a common problem in this car where the power steering would leak fluid on alternator ruining it.) · Replaced the interior door panels on this car · Still a good looking car, especially at night ;-) Reserve will be low.
