This Mercedes 300CD was one of the first  123 series coupes with the turbo diesel engine sold in the US . The original owner took delivery of this car in December of 1981 and it is a 1982 model .  The 3.0 liter 5 cylinder diesel engine already had a reputation for being very economical and super reliable . Now with the turbo charger they also had plenty of power . This car cruises comfortably at 90 miles per hour while still getting about 27 miles per gallon of diesel .  This car was original sold here in California at Mercedes Benz of Hollywood . It has always only been here in California and still even has the original blue California license plates from 1981 . It is a wonderful car and truly fun to drive . I get compliments on it , where ever i go . It truly stands out and is not your average 30 year old car .  It is finished in black with Palomino color MB-Tex interior . This car has never been in any kind of accident and the body is totally straight . There is absolutely no rust on it and it is dry underneath . The paint is gorgeous without any dings , dents or scratches . The interior is very clean as well , as the pictures will show . The carpets are free of stains  and even the wood is in wonderful condition . This car has mostly been garaged and it shows .  The original owner always maintained this coupe to the highest standards . I can not think of anything it needs . Everything is working on it , including the cruise control , power door locks , power sunroof , all the windows and even the original Becker radio still works . Just recently we had a complete service done on the car .  - all fluids and filters were changed  -valves were adjusted -new hood-pad installed -new front windshield with new seal  -new rear windshield seal  -new brakes in the front  -transmission service  -new floor mats  - complete detail  These cars are known to go for over 500k miles with the right maintenance . This little coupe has only 117k miles on the odometer and should be ready for the next 30 years . There are no issues i can think of at all and i would not hesitate to drive it to the east coast at a moments notice . It would make a wonderful addition to any car collection . Since Mercedes only built 8007 of the 123 series diesel coupes and a lot less of the turbo version , they should only go up in value . They have been increasing in price over the last few years already .  But this car would also make a great and reliable daily driver . There are not that many elegant , classic cars which you can drive every day and not think twice about it .  The 3 liter diesel engine is also the perfect candidate for Bio-diesel conversion . This way you could drive it on vegetable oil or even free waste oil from restaurants . It has never been done with this particular car , but with gas prices where they are today , it sounds like an appealing idea.  I would prefer to sell this car to somebody local , who could come by and appreciate it in person . But i would also be willing to help with shipping arrangements or an airport pick up . Any charges for shipping would be the responsibility of the buyer of course . Please have your funds in order and do all your "due diligence " BEFORE placing a bid .
