Revision 12/16/10 at 10:00 pm Central time...I just replaced 6 pictures of which 5 show the trunk area and one shows the rear seat center piece that goes on the bottom, so you can make it a 5 seater, vs the 4 seats shown. I have also adjusted to reflect the actual mileage, which is about 100 more then previously stated. Here is an amazing find. A 1979 Mercedes-Benz 280CE with 71,050miles. This Houston/California beauty was purchased from author Jay Helfert from California This is the finest original Mercedes-Benz 280CE I have seen or driven. Being a car nut, I have driven and owned many cars. There has never been more interest in these great cars than now. I have had some great ones, and sold some fabulous originals. This could be the best I have seen. The paint is original and shiny. The interior (carpets, upholstery) is just flawless, shows little wear. and looks like a car with little or no use! The engine compartment is in excellent condition, including the New hood insulation. Door jams, dash pad, wood, gauges and instruments, chrome, stainless trim, window felts, rubber gaskets, new wheels, and new Pirelli P-4 tires with less then 500 miles, bumpers including the rubber covers are all in very good condition. Window glass is crystal clear. The cruise control works well. With the original jack, All of the original owners books and manuals are with the car. With 71,050 miles, the engine and related running gear perform as new. It starts easily and idles smoothly. Battery is New, and oil pressure registers quickly. The motor sounds great even when cold. The transmission shifts properly and smoothly. Parking brake works properly. The suspensions is tight and firm. The front end and suspension are in excellent shape with good alignment. Exhaust is with new muffler and New catalytic converter. The acoustic mat under the hood is near perfect and appears as new. There are no leaks at all from this fine Benz.
