1957 Renault 4CV This car is as good as it gets, for a 53 year old car, not to many of these cars in the USA. Drive it to any car show or weekly classic car meets and show off the rare car. This is a totally restored car, driven only to classic car shows to pick up a trophy. Restoration was done 2 years ago. There are 100 Miles on the rebuild engine. This is a GREEN Car, 60-70/mpg. Here is a detailed list of the restoration done. Body: Body blasted down to bare metal, all rust cut out, lower front nose section replaced with fiberglass, lower rear panel replaced with new reproduction steel panel from France. The front fenders are joint to make one complete front section. The whole body treated with phosphoric acid, 2 coats of epoxy primer, 3 coats of filler primer, 1 guide coat, and 3 coats of PPG single stage, 2 coats of PPG clear, color sanded and buffed and polished. Underside same as top, except for the 2 coats of PPG clear. Engine: Engine completely overhauled, cylinder head machined, new valves, new valve guides. Engine was 745cc, changed to 850cc with a complete new set of sleeves, pistons and piston rings. Crank shaft ground and balanced, new main and rod bearings. New timing gear and new oil pressure sensor, new fuel pump and all new gaskets. All new water hoses and heater hoses, new thermostat and new stainless steel water cooling tube in cylinder head. Radiator and heater core restored and pressure tested. Chrome plated valve cover. Engine runs beautifully and has lots of power. Upgrades and changes: Installed a new 32mm Solex carburetor with automatic chock, all new exhaust, new modern air filter, (original oil bath air filter available). Changed to 12 volt system with a new alternator and new battery, added a 12v to 6v voltage converter to run the instruments and the wiper motor and the heater motor. New 12V starter have the original 6V starter and generator available. I installed a new modern radio with CD player and roof antenna, added toggle switches on the dashboard for the heater, wiper and fog lights. There is a problem with the fuel gauge function, I tested the gauge and sending unit on the bench and it worked, in the car the gauge is not responding, I think I have a bad grounding connection at the sending unit because of the new paint applied. Interior: Seats all original, no damage just cleaned then restored the vinyl with vinyl flex coating, same with the front door panels. All new carpet, all new vinyl trim and professionally installed new headliner. All new rubber seals, windows and doors. Rare glove box door, installed a new modern fuse box, chrome plated ashtray. 2 Lap-seatbelts installed. Exterior: All chrome has been re-chromed, new rare side air intake grill ( aluminum casting), very rare spoke wheel caps, white wall tire inserts, new fog lights, special front indicator lights, installed rear indicator bulbs inside the original new tail lights. New tires Nankang 135R15 including spare. This car has lots of extras, rare hood ornament, new rear view mirrors and new fender aluminum moldings and headlight visors. Mechanical: New shocks, all new cables, clutch, accelerator, speedometer and hand brake. All new brake lines, new master brake cylinder, new brake fluid reservoir original, restored all 4 brake cylinders, all new wheel bearings and seals, new clutch. Every bolt and nut on this car is new. Included are the keys for the Ignition, Hood and Trunk locks and original Jack and Crank handle. 1 Original Owners Manual is included. Car is kept covered in an air conditioned garage. Clear Texas Title, Texas Gov. Inspection done in August 2010 No Warranty, sold as is, buyer to arrange for shipping or pick up.
