1985 was the last year Mercedes built the gorgeous 300 CD turbo-diesel coupe . They only built 8007 of the 123 series coupe between 1978 and 1985 with the diesel engine and a lot less with the turbo version . The 5 cylinder diesel engine already had a great reputation for being extremely reliable and economical . With the introduction of the turbo in 1982 they now also had plenty of power . This car is not slow at all , it cruises comfortably at 85-90 miles per hour while averaging 28 miles per gallon of diesel . They are elegant classic cars which you can truly drive every day .  My car is finished in "Cabernet red" (MB color code 587) , which looks more like a burgundy color than red . The interior color is Parchment MB-Tex  , which is a lot lighter than the more common Palomino color interior . It almost looks like a ivory color. You do not see this color combination very often and i do get a lot of compliments on it .  The body is in excellent condition without any dings dents or scratches . The paint still shines like on the first day . This car has mostly been garaged and it shows . The interior is super clean as well , as the pictures will show . The seats are in great shape, the carpets are clean and even the wood panels still look like they are only a few months old .  But the best thing about this car is the way it drives . It always starts up right away and there are no known issues at all . It has lots of pick-up right from the start and even at higher speeds it feels more solid than many newer cars today. I do have the books for the car as well as service records . It has always been maintained very well . Just recently the car was fully serviced and the tires have less than 500 miles on them . I would not hesitate to drive this car from Los Angeles to the east coast at a moments notice .  I would prefer to sell this Mercedes to somebody local who could actually come by and see it or even have it checked out . But i would also be willing to assist with shipping arrangements or an airport pick-up . I live only about 15 minutes away from LAX Los Angeles international in West Los Angeles .
