Classic Restored in the Cafe Racer style, 1981 Suzuki GS550T. Only 14,750 Miles Stripped down to frame, which I rust proofed and re-sprayed. New off the shelf gas tank. New generator/rectifier and battery. Tarozzi Rear Set foot pegs/controls. Hand made Cafe Racer seat (can be easily put back to original seat). New chain. Recent tires. New four into one performance exhaust (Motad from the UK). New progressive fork springs, oil and fork seals. New front & rear brake pads and fluid. Many hours spent cleaning, polishing and painting parts. Internal engine parts left untouched as motor runs sweetly. Some new gaskets and oil seals. Did do a valve adjustment with new shims. New air filter, oil filter, oil and spark plugs. Carburettors stripped down and dipped overnight in chemical cleaner. All new 'O' rings fitted. Re-assembled, painted and balanced. Rebuilt fuel petcock. Engine runs like a top, no flat spots and revs freely all the way to the 10,000 red line. Clean California title in my name. Californian registration Aug 2011. This is a classic bike, the last of the naked Universal Japanese Motorcycles (UJM). Gets lots of attention as it looks just off the showroom floor in 1981. As you can see from the photos, I've converted it to a Cafe Racer style. However, I did not change any of the stock parts, and it can be put back to 'ordinary' GS550T within an hour or two. I have all the original parts as shown on the photo, and these come with the bike. The original exhaust down pipes were rusted/tanished, and are now painted flat black. The last pictures are of the bike in 'stock' GS550T mode from a few weeks ago. Test rides welcome if I have the cash in hand, and you have a motorcycle license. Obviously sold as seen, and no warranty offered or implied, as per all Private Party sales. I strongly recommend coming to see this bike before the auction ends, so you know what you're bidding on. Local pickup preferred as I'm not set up at all to ship this bike. If however, you can arrange your own shipper to come and pick the bike up, then fine.
