Vehicle Detail
Selling my baby. I bought this almost 5 years ago from a retired school teacher who had been getting rid of his toys. Ironically, I too have to get rid of my toys for I am moving south to Florida. I am the third owner of this nice little fiat. Original owner had it refurbished and painted from a fiat blue to the current off white. He sold it to owner number two. I bought it from him. I have used this car sparingly over the last almost 5 years. I stored it every winter and drove it only from May through September. Bought it as an investment and probably as my mid life crisis. I had it to several local car shows and put less than 2000 miles on it. I was a varsity basketball and softball coach at a local high school and this was my eye-catching transportation to and from school 1 mile away. My daughters loved to get noticed in this one and I guess I did too. Very unique car in very good shape. Always received many compliments. I don't know much about cars. I just bought this when I saw it because I didn't see too many of these left on the road in this condition. It is an automatic and for me, that was a plus. I always had a fondness for fiats and MG's. I have enjoyed the car ever since. The car runs and drives well. It seems it needs a bit more pumping on the gas pedal to get it started than it used to. Maybe a new fuel pump is in order?? The thermostat gets stuck every now and then and could use replacement. The windshield wipers run slow and probably need a new wiper motor?? I have seen spots of oil on my garage floor, but it never seemed to be a problem. I always checked it and very seldom had to add any. For a 1979, I would be hard pressed to find many nicer, especially ones with automatic transmission. It really is in nice shape. It has a couple of nicks here and there, but all in all is really an eye catcher. The car has newer tires, a new battery, and new stereo system. All in all, with a little money and effort, this fiat could be a gem. In my eyes it already is!
