Vehicle Detail
This is a beautiful, top of the line 1965 Rambler Ambassador 990 Station Wagon with only 48,000 original miles. When sold new the wagon was Coral Cordovan (dark brown), the previous owner wisely chose to have the car repainted in a two tone scheme using Barcelona Taupe (an original 1965 color option) for the side panel color. The paint, although several years old now, still shows and shines well. The chrome and stainless trim is in great shape although the bumpers, door handles and roof rack are showing some pitting. The interior is a taupe color and is in exceptional condition. The driver's seat back has a small vinyl repair area at the left side top. At some point the rear seat may have been recovered and is a different shade from the front seats but is the same fabric. The dash has a crack in the top of the pad next to the speaker area. The other interior imperfection is a missing piece of the left rear interior trim panel in the cargo area. It looks as though the panel may have cracked and was cut out and never replaced. The missing plastic piece is about 4 x 5". There is new carpeting front and rear and in the cargo area. The rear tailgate window is power operated and is controlled by a switch on the dash and by a key at the tailgate. The keyed switch on the tailgate needs to be replaced or repaired. The body and undercarriage are rust free and rock solid. There is no rust on this car with the exception of minimal surface rust on some of the suspension components. New heavy duty rear springs were installed last year. The engine is the Rambler 327 / 270 hp V-8 and runs strong. The transmission is a three speed Borg-Warner Shift-Command Flash-O-Matic automatic and shifts like new. The rear is a "Twin Grip" (limited slip). All are original to the car. This is a radio delete car. I have two original Rambler AM/FM and one AM radios if the new owner wants to install one. I have the original registration, owners manual and maintenance records. Please feel free to ask questions and anyone is welcome to inspect the car in person. I will be in Daytona this weekend (Nov. 25, 26, 27) with the car at the Turkey Run. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Good luck with the bidding and I will return emails as quickly as possible.
