Vehicle Detail

Rolls-Royce Silver Spur 1982 Museum quality The closest thing to buying a “new” Silver Spur! Presenting a Rolls-Royce Silver Spur in beautiful Light Ocean blue with dark blue hand-painted fine lines and French Navy blue Connolly hide and contrasting light blue floor rugs. This would arguably be amongst the very best early-80s Rolls-Royce Silver Spur in the country. This is a true 9½ out of 10 car that is very close to show quality standard. It has an amazing 19,500 original miles and the car simply looks like it is only a few years old. Primarily all original paint, tyres, and finishes. The interior even smells like a brand new Rolls-Royce (I will never forget the smell when I visited the Crewe factory in the late 1990s!) This is a 1 owner from new and an elegantly appointed example which has been meticulously preserved. It was purchased and delivered new in California where it spent 22 of its 28 years. An impeccably maintained example in excellent original condition and presents beautifully, it even sports original specification and factory fitted Michelin "X" tyres. These are no longer available and although they may not be ideal for long distance touring, they are a brilliant touch of originality and are certainly period correct. All functions and features work to specification. The body and paint is in very good condition with only the slightest imperfection. With the car still "dressed" in its original single stage paint it is not perfect to current paint methodology and standards but it does have an excellent original presentation. Being a low mileage example there are virtually no chips around the headlamps which you would normally have on any Rolls-Royce. The navy blue Everflex top is as-new. The interior burl walnut wood finishes are in perfect condition and are NOT restored but the original Rolls-Royce factory finishes. The Connolly hide is without marks or blemishes and presents very elegantly. (Any lines or color variations you see in the photos are just the natural grains characteristic of Connolly hides which, for some reason, are exaggerated in the photos. The extra close-up photos clearly show their almost perfect condition.). The dash “top-roll” and rear parcel shelf are nice. Almost all Spirits and Spurs from 1981 thru to the late 90s have suffered sun and heat damage which causes the leather to dry and contract. Especially around the windshield vents. The headliner is simply “like new” and the Wilton wool carpets still “wool-ball” like new ones. Having spent almost all its life indoors and in the last 15 years, climate controlled storage at all times, the car is very clean and dry and there is absolutely no sign of rust. The car was very rarely driven and yet mechanically well maintained. The condition and presentation under the hood is excellent testimony to this. This car has spent much of its life in California where it was delivered new. Its life in Illinois in very recent years has only been in climate controlled storage and, in fact, has only travelled a few 100 miles. The car has not seen snow and the underside is smooth and clean. Please review the cars history report which scores an outstanding "84" out of a typical range of 69 to 82 for above average examples! Mechanically and operationally, the car has been fully inspected by an experienced Rolls-Royce workshop. Anything needing adjustment and/or service has been attended to so nothing is needed. The car comes with its original hand-book, service books, Rolls-Royce issue service card and it still has its original Yale ignition key. Naturally, the car has its correct jack and tools which, as you might expect, have never been used. ~~ Presenting as a totally original Rolls-Royce Silver Spur, this a beautiful and very fine example that presents as a true 9½ out of 10 Show car. It undoubtedly ranks as a true 10-out-of-10 driver – not an easy claim to make these days. You could confidently drive this Spur “as-is” to your next Rolls-Royce meet with the intention of winning a prize. It is that good! ~~ This is NOT, by any measure, a typical 1982 Silver Spur and as such will command considerably more than average prices. Notwithstanding, reasonable offers will be considered. Many additional photos are available at the following link. I recommend all interested buyers to review these to best appreciate the cars stunning condition. Take the time to look at all the close-up photos of the interior (the wood, leather, carpets and headlining are truly like new), bodywork, chrome and overall appearance. This Spur is so “perfect”, it makes the photos look like original brochure pictures! Click HERE to see additional photos! International bidders welcome! A note from RRMOTORSINC: “For those Rolls-Royce enthusiasts who have followed my auctions in the past I welcome you all. For those who are new to my adverts and/or the marque, please note that as a serious collector of some 25 years, all my cars are truly described examples. I have my own private Rolls-Royce workshop (not open to the public but dedicated to my own cars) with trained Rolls-Royce craftsmen who are proficient in all aspects. As a team, we are dedicated to the preservation of the marque and as such, any car that leaves the stable is completely inspected and work-shopped to ensure mechanical and operational items are maintained appropriately. We adopt a “keep it original” mentality with pride and confidence, offering after sales technical support and assistance well beyond the sale. Because most of my cars are offered for the pleasures of driving enjoyment it is not always possible or practical to seek perfection (in the true sense of the word) but we do always uphold excellence in whatever we do. Our cars are by no means cheap priced cars but we like to think they are amongst the best. To this end, I firmly believe in the famous adage; “Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.” We hope you do to.” All the door jams (inside edges) are simply like new. I am not a broker or retail car dealer; I am a professional car collector of some 25 years with considerable experience and knowledge of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars. I have a long standing reputation being associated with the marque which I take seriously. I take a lot of pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer, and you are the winning bidder, please understand you have entered a binding contract. You cannot bid and win the auction and expect not to meet the terms and conditions. Bidding and/or winning does not mean you are expecting me to “hold” the car until you have the opportunity to inspect it. Any inspection contemplated should be undertaken BEFORE you bid or make an offer and I openly welcome any potential buyer to come and personally inspect the car. Once you bid or make an offer, you are doing so to buy WITHOUT conditions. A $2000.00 deposit (non-refundable) is required within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal. The balance of funds are required within 7 days of the close of the auction and must be provided by cashier’s check or bank wire. I cannot accept PayPal for the balance unless you are willing to meet the cost of transfer fees. Full payment must be made (and payments cleared) before the title and/or the vehicle is released. If all the funds are not received as indicated above, I reserve the right the keep the deposit and resell the vehicle by re-listing or to another bidder. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements on a worldwide basis but the winning bidder takes full responsibility for pickup and/or shipping and at his cost. As a collector and experienced restorer of the marque, I make every effort to bring my cars to a very high standard but the very nature of these classic Rolls-Royces is such that it is not always possible to attend to every single item, or perhaps I may have inadvertently overlooked an item. Further, a feature or function that is working perfectly one moment, may decide to play-up the next. After all, it is some 28 years old. For this reason it is necessary for the following condition: The vehicle is being sold "as-is/where-is" with no warranty expressed, written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are made with reasonable judgment and all efforts are made to ensure fair assessment and accuracy but they are for descriptive and identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be responsible for errors in description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, unforeseen imperfection, defect or damage. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have satisfied himself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects at the buyer’s request prior to the close of the auction. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. Being a classic car in excess of 10 years of age, in most US states, the mileage may be recorded as “exempt”. In this regard the seller makes no warranties as to the accuracy of the mileage indicated or shown. I can hold the vehicle up to 30 days while you arrange shipping but you must immediately insure it. I will not bear any responsibility for any additional costs including storage, transportation, or repair after the close of the auction. Whereas I am happy to store the car in excess of 30 days from auction end, a cost of $35 per day shall apply beyond 30 days of auction end. Also, you must remember that this is a classic +/-28 year old vehicle, and while it is up to you, I do not recommend that you just “hop in and drive it across the country”. At least, I have never done that. I have always professionally transported the cars from where I bought them to my home. PLEASE; IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS, DO NOT BID AS, RESPECTFULLY, THERE CAN BE NO EXCEPTIONS. ~~oo00oo~~ "RRMOTORSINC": Qualified & experienced in Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars world-wide for 28 years
