Vehicle Detail
This was a project for my friend and his father, and his father went into the hospital so the project ended. I had a mechanic check it out and he said all it probably needs is a distributor and maybe a fuel pump. Plus it will need a battery. The car has had some body work done to it and then my friend and his dad primered the whole thing. Since it's been sitting, two chumps have dented it (see photos) so it isn't perfect. I think the car used to be black. Engine was rebuilt. Zero miles on it now. The engine alone in this condition is worth $750. It's a rotary engine and Ebay doesn't have that choice in its categories. Just wanted to be sure you know. The car's interior is in very good shape. Red with red leather. The carpet looks good too. My friend said the reason why they chose this particular car was because the interior was so good for a car this age. This is an automatic transmission version of the car. I know, I know: a 5-speed can be a lot more fun. But there are plenty of good reasons for an automatic such as a lot of stop and go city traffic can make a clutch really annoying. Car still needs a little work done such as a couple exterior items (taillight reflector, that sort of thing). The rubber trim is still off the car and in the trunk. The skirt under the nose of the car needs to be attached better as should the muffler. The electric window switches work but my friend never got around to anchoring them back in place. Little stuff like that. The stereo and cassette deck are in the dash but it looks like someone long ago tried to steal it so there is some cracked plastic around it. Personally I would replace the stereo anyway with something that plays CDs and MP3s/iPods anyway, so that part can be addressed then. Wheels look great and tires are OK too from what I can tell. Located in Chicago. You're welcome to come and take a look before the auction ends.
