The first owner purchased the Mercedes new in Florida. The second owner acquired the vehicle in 1995 and has put the last 18,000 miles on it. It has been stored inside and only driven in the summer for those 15 years. It currently has just 58,000 original miles! The 450SL is finished in Bright Silver with a matching hard top. The interior is Black and all original, as is the soft top. This silver over black combination is very rare and a stunning combination. The car is powered by the original numbers matching 4.5L V8 engine, matched to a smooth shifting Automatic transmission. The Roadster is loaded with options. All power options work, as they should. The car is original with the exception of one repaint 15 years ago and an aftermarket stereo. The soft top is in good condition. The interior is also in good condition. All gages work as they are meant to. The paint is 15 years old and does show a little age in spots. It was just buffed and waxed and shines nice. Paint does show it’s age. Few chips, Scratches, etc , Shines nice. Southern vehicle. No belt on AC compressor, but all AC components present. Chrome is good. Few light dings and scratches in bumpers. John along with his Father Jim and Mother Mary stayed at Thiel Motors to serve the DeWitt area. In 1992 Mary passed away after a bout with cancer. After her death, Jim decided to retire from the business and turn it over to his son John. John then retired from Teaching and went into the business full time. In 1997 John's son Jim came to work for the family business. John's other son Jon Jr. Came to work for the business in 2001.
