Vehicle Detail
58 Ford Sky-liner, 500 Retractable Convertible. This car was built in Dearborn Michigan. The original color is Raven Black with white top, red and white interior. Car came with 352 4 v with a 3 speed C4 trans. with 9 inch ford rear end. The dash on the car has all knobs and switches. Original radio works. The interior is fairly presentable with no tears in seats. They are white with red waffle print inserts. I have all interior parts for rear area, metal trim, rear and interior hardtop trim. The carpet is very good. The windshield is a little foggy on edges, not broken. Side glass is intact, but needs replacing. Rear glass is good. The engine is a 352 4V. It has been carefully taken apart and bead blasted. All parts, brackets, manifold, heads, block, pumps, pulleys, valve covers, all painted with Ford blue engine enamel and black engine enamel. Carb is 650cfm Holley (motor-craft). The short block is presently being rebuilt with everything new. The engine will be restored and ready to drop in. The C6 trans is not original but is in good shape. Being a care restorer myself, I am reluctant to sell this car. The body on the car is extremely nice. Body has never been hit. Very straight, all mounting points to the frame are excellent with no rust. The trunk floor is totally solid. The spare tire area is a little weak, but I found a replacement panel in catalog for 250. with stamped beading. The front and rear floors are totally solid. Two small repairs on rear bottom of foot-wells. Rockers need repair or replace. Inner sill is perfect as with all gussets, outriggers, braces. The rear quarters are solid and straight with a little rust in bottom rear of quarter. The doors are solid and straight with one quarter size hole in left side front. The front fenders are solid, a little wear at the bottom, but are very straight. Hood deck lid has no dents and very straight. Trim is stainless and is all intact. All solenoids and switches on power top work. All motors work. This car is an excellent opportunity for a rotisserie restoration. The value of these are escalating in price so don't be afraid to invest. I know whoever buys this car will be very happy this it. http://www.youtube.com/user/rboven2345?feature=mhum<----- click here for the video of the operation of the retractable lid.
