Vehicle Detail
Own a piece of history! Offered is a virtually rust free 1966 Volvo 1800S. The same year and model as Irv Gordon's Guiness Book of World Records record setting Volvo (2.8 million miles). Also, the same model as Roger Moore's car in The Saint tv series of the 1960's. Of course, you already knew that! She only has slight surface rust (bubbles in the paint) which is pictured. All jacking points and uni-body are as solid as when she came off the production line at the Pressed Steel Company in England. She starts and drives wonderful and leaks or uses no oil! She comes with a pre-oiler (Marvel Mistory Oil) which injects a mist into the intake prior to combustion. This helps to offset the effects of burning unleaded gas. This 1800S has undergone an earlier restoration where the interior was redone (still very presentable) in a blue factory color which matches the Smith Guages on the dash. All mechanicals and guages operate as intended with the exception of the clock. The carpet and paint are tired, but are still very presentable. The paint is showing spider cracking but looks good from 30'. I think she has had one repaint. All chrome is in good shape with the exception of the rear license plate light housing which shows minor pitting. Still very presentable. The cars window scrapers are tired but I am including brand new ones to be replaced. I just never got around to replacing them since the car was never driven in the rain or stored outside. The door seals are also tired and are need of replacement. But hey, you never drive these cars or expose them to raing anyway. The hood has some stress cracks to the metal at the hinge and I am including a replacement hood (needs to be painted) to swap out. She came to me via Arizona, Louisiana to Tennessee where she lives now. I have owned her since 2/02 as has been a blast to drive. I always get questions like, "what is that". I require a contact within 24 hours and a $500 deposit within 48 hours to confirm you good intentions and to secure her for you final payment. Please no tire-kickers, spammers or scammers. I know what I have and am starting the bidding at a very reasonable figure. If you have any questions, call Richard at 423-886-3709 or use eBay's email service. Be sure to look for my other auction next week where I am listing an even more impressive 1972 Volvo 1800ES which too Runner-up at the VSA East Coast meet.
