This is a one owner jewel that I bought from the dealer that got it on trade in. I have spent the last 5 years driving and restoring it. Almost everything you can think of has been replaced and/or reworked. Transmission, vacuum pumps, locks, brakes, air conditioning, power steering, paneling, etc. etc. I drive them while I rebuild them and there is nothing left to fix. Everything works except the cassette tape will not eject unless you pull the fuze. I haven't fixed it since I don't listen to tapes or radios and don't care. It is a Becker and you can send it away for repair if you care about that kind of stuff. I had it painted because the paint has been ruined by brush-type car washes. It has spent its life in Louisiana and has never seen any bondo, floods, salt, or rust. Clean title. This was my baby-doll until I moved up to the S models. Since I now have two S420's, , I might as well turn this one loose. I have spent upwards of $8000 on it over the last 5 years and that is enough . Next to the 190 and the Diesels, this is probably the finest Mercedes ever made. It is low and long and is almost impossible to roll or turn over. It was built to run the Autobahn at 160mph...looks like as baby limousine. These cars were originally designed for 80 mph for 300,000 miles. The new E's and C's and such are junk and cheapies, and these are the remaining classics when Stuttgart made them by hand to last forever. Don't miss this car. They are becoming very hard to find. I guarantee you won't spend any money on it for a long time because there is nothing left to fix. It will be running perfectly for a long time. It has about 140,000 on it now, with a replaced transmission, cold air, and a perfect engine. These 420 engines were the best ever built and are famous for their long lives. They are actually made in Belgium for Mercedes Benz. Their safety is legendary. You can usually walk away from an accident in a Benz, whereas that will probably not happen in anything being made and sold today. I wouldn't drive anything else, except big old Lincolns, Cadillacs, SUV's and Pickup trucks. I have sold several of these, and Volvos, to parents who cared about their kids surviving their first accidents, which always happen. 20 mpg is about the norm for gas. Ask if you have any questions.
