***NO Reserve Auction**** Car will be sold to the highest bidder - providing someone meets the starting price. Still moving across the country and must sell my baby! Just took her for a quick run through the mountains - again - still awesome. This is a great example of a fine 34 year old German sports car I have owned this baby for a couple of years, (the previous owner had enjoyed her since 1995 to 2008) and the experience has been awesome.Although I haven't had the chance to drive her as much as I would have liked. The 2.7 litre engine went through a complete rebuild by a reputable Porsche shop (German Car Specialist - Calgary) in 2000, using genuine NOS parts and rebuilt to original specs, the necessary upgrades were completed at that time (hydraulic chain tensioners, pop off valve) etc. The engine is not numbers matching and was taken out of a 1976 sportmatic version, apparently it had less KM's on it and as the shop said - it had "better bones". The clutch was also replaced as well as seveal synchro's. This car was previously owned by a local man that put a considerable effort and expense into this car, only to be transfered to England for many years. As he put it, the "heavy lifting" is complete. After I purchased this car, I had the following work performed; - new battery - fixed small electrical/wiring issues - new coil - top end seals were replaced - fuel system flush - fuel pump reman - injectors replaced - new rear tail lights - engine die leak test - tune up - Alpine stereo - new 17" cup 2 rims and new tires (5000KM on them) - new windshield washer pump My plans for this year was to have the suspension adjusted and to replace the interior carpet (this is what I was referring to in my earlier ad when I spoke of the car needing some TLC. This car appears to have started out as a 76 911S which has been professionally transformed to a 930 widebody (steel body flares) look. The work performed was done well, but if you look very close you can slightly see weld seams on the rear flares. I tried to take some pictures - but they just don't show up in the pictures. The paint is of good quality, but there are a few stone chips and yes a couple of minor door dings. Although not perfect, this car is a head turner. The clock even works, and does keep the correct time. I have a professional appraisal, who has rated this car as very good condition. The car is rust free, the paint - and as mentioned, while well done is showing signs of it's age with a number of paint chips.the interior is original and could use the carpet replaced as it does show it's age. That said - I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere, it shifts smoothly and runs terrific with no known mechanical defects. I welcome inspections and encourage bidders to do their homework. I am an honest car enthusiast, ask me any questions you have, and I commit to you my answers will be honest and sincere. Thanks for looking and good luck - I have tried to describe the car as best I can, the car is being sold as is - where is. I will provide any help that I can to work with the buyer in transportation arrangements. On 07-Jul-10 at 09:07:48 EDT, seller added the following information: Good morning To answer a few other questions It's been years since I did any research (prior to purchasing my first 1977 911S coupe) If I remember correctly - power windows were not available until 1977, Older Porsche air conditioning was not worth the investment - but you can add aftermarket air that is effective (my question is why? Just remove the top) 1976 was the first year that Porsche galvanized the body panels.
