Vehicle Detail

Why buy a base model Vette when you can get one that is fully loaded with all the best options for about the same price! This fully loaded Vette had an original sticker price of almost $50,000 - The first buyer with $20,000 drives it home! Note: The reserve is less than the buy it now price. 58,xxx two-owner miles (I've had the car since 12/31/03) - mostly highway miles and always babied - the first owner was in his 40s and I'm in my 50s. AutoCheck shows three owners. When I bought the car on 12/31/03 I contacted the original owner and he told me that he moved from St. Louis to Illinois and re-registered the car there. I believe that is why it is shown with three owners. I kept the car on a friend's dealer tag from when I bought it at the end of 2003 until January 2005. I decided then I really liked the car and would keep it for a while so I registered it under my name. I have a copy of a CarFax that shows this detail. Please note - I reserve the right to put a few more miles on it if the weather here stays nice. Exterior: Bowling Green - this was a special color to celebrate the Bowling Green, Kentucky plant where the Corvette is built. It is a two-stage pearl with metallic that changes color with the light. It was only used in 2000 and 2001 with a total of only about 2,300 cars shipped in the color. This is an extremely unique color that always attracts a crowd and receives compliments. Interior: Camel Leather - it is the perfect combination with Bowling Green exterior - 6-way adjustable power seats for both the driver and passenger PASS-Key II theft deterrent system with alarm Remote keyless entry (two controllers) Run-flat Goodyear tires in good condition with air pressure monitoring system Active Handling System with three user controlled settings including "Competition" mode Electronic Stability Control Traction Control Anti-lock Brakes Six Speed Manual Transmission - this was an $815 option in 2001 - automatic transmission was standard - shifts perfectly and clutch feels just like it did when the car was new. Preferred Equipment Group Option 2 - this was the top-of-the line preferred equipment option and added $2,700 to the price in 2001. It includes: Dual-zone automatic temperature controlled heating and air conditioning Adjustable sport bucket seats, 6-way power driver and passenger seats with perforated leather seating surfaces that keep you cool in the summer Fog lamps Luggage shade with net Dual memory package automatically sets everything (steering wheel position, seating position, radio and gauges) and is activated by pushing the unlock button on the key fob (two key fobs included) Leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel with power telescoping column Heads-up Display (HUD) - if you ever drive a car with a HUD you'll never want to be without one again - this is the same technology used in fighter planes that allows the pilot to keep his eye on the target - the HUD is user-programmable and fully adjustable for driver height Twilight sentinel automatic control Electro-chromic rear-view and driver-side mirrors - automatically dims mirrors when a car with bright lights approaches from the rear. Bose AM / FM / Cassette / CD with speed variable volume (automatically adjusts volume with the speed of the car) Five Spoke Chrome Wheels with factory locking lug nuts - this was a $1,200 option in 2001 Smoked Lexan Targa Top - this was a $750 option in 2001 - unlike most of the Lexan tops you'll see on C5 Vettes, this one is in absolutely perfect condition - no scratches, no "crazing" and no scuffs. Lexan is the same material they use to make the canopies for fighter jets. It is very light (easy for one person to take off and put on) and extremely strong. The car is as near to perfect as you find in a C5 Corvette. At this price you can own a Vette that drives and looks like new for less than even so-called sports cars like the Mazda Miata, Pontiac Solstice or Saturn Sky. You'll also be pleasantly surprised by the 30 miles to the gallon it gets on the highway - that's not a typo - in 6th gear the engine only turns 1,500 RPM at 70MPH! I just had a fresh oil change, as I've done every every year (that means about once every 1,000 to 2,000 miles) with Mobile 1, and had it fully inspected by my mechanic to insure there are no issues - it was given a perfect bill of health. This was my extra car and only driven in nice weather. It's a great car that you could enjoy for years to come, but I have a new one on the way and would rather not store it until spring when it would probably bring two or three thousand more. If you're looking for a C5 Vette that will attract attention, you should take time to see this car in person. The color is rare, unique and always attracts a crowd of admirers. I have many more pictures - please feel welcome to email me with any questions.
