Up for auction is a vintage 1976 Volkswagen Westphalia Campmobile for parts or repair. This bus is mostly complete as you can see. It is missing about half its window glass including the windshield. It appears that someone began a restoration project but then stopped part way in. The vehicle has been partially prepped for painting. The body of this bus is in good condition overall except for a dew dings and dents here and there and the rust pictured. The vehicle's undercarriage is very solid. This includes the chassis rails, cross members, front axle, and floor panels--all solid. The exhaust system and heater boxes on the air-cooled Type 4 motor are also in good, solid condition. The motor cranks over but does not start--we have not tested it any further. The vehicle rolls freely and the brakes work good. There are no keys and the ignition switch tumbler has been removed to allow use. The camper equipment appears intact thought the pop-up tent has some holes/tears and will require replacement. Also, the sliding door must be operated carefully or it pops off the rail (the rail under the side window)--I believe it requires a new roller. The bottom sliding door rail is in good condition. The sliding door and the drivers door have no interior panels. All in all, you are getting a restorable Westfaila camper with a clear Michigan title. The vehicle is solid overall but requires some body work, about 50% of the window glass, a paint job, and some mechanical work to make it drivable. It is sold as-is with no warranty.
