1966 mustang coupe for sale....This is an original 6 cylinder car that has been converted to a v8 289....it has an 8" rear end and 5 lug spindles all the way around. This is a very low mileage 289 that was rebuilt about 2 years ago and driven very little due to an illness with the previous owner. The motor has the original autolite 2100 carb and it runs great, no buring of oil, cranks on the first turn and sounds absolutely great. THe automatic transmission has about 40000 miles on it and it shifts out great. The steering components, tie rod ends , bushings etc have been replaced and the car handles on the road very good. All of the electrical is good and all of the gauges work as they should. THe brakes have been replaced and the car stops good. They are manual drum brakes all the way around. The body is in pretty good shape, but it will need some body work and paint. The paint is about 10 years old and definitely shows signs of wear. This car would be a very easy restoration, there is some rust in the passneger floor pan, the trunk looks very solid, the rest of the floor pans are solid, shock towers are good, and there is some minor rust on the drivers side rear quarter(about the size of a quarter). The original upholstery on the seats is in great condition, carpet is good, door panels are good, there are some small splits in the headliner where the stitching is located.
