Vehicle Detail

On auction is a very well maintained 1997 4-door Silver Saturn SL2 with very low (110,800 miles) mileage that I need to sell because my son is now overseas and has no need for the car anymore. It’s State of Pennsylvania inspected (both mechanical and air emissions) up until April 2011 (and passed with flying colors). Features include: Automatic Transmission, Engine is 4-Cyl, DOHC, 1.9 Liter, Power Windows, Power Locks and Mirrors, Dual Airbags, A/C, Cruise Control and an absolutely brand new 755 DBI/320 Watt MP3/iPod Player-Ready FM/AM Stereo that we just installed to replace the factory radio & cassette deck. The vehicle comes with extra full size rim (but no tire) in case you want to mount a full size spare tire and have that handy to replace the smaller temporary ‘emergency flat tire’ that comes with the vehicle. Vehicle has been extensively mechanically refurbished over the last year and a half (and I have all this documentation, which was performed at the local Saturn of West Chester or Saturn of Newark dealership, and then the folks who took over that dealership), including replacing the battery (which I just did earlier this week), starter, cam gasket cover, electronic ignition module (plus coil, plugs, etc.) trans mount, rear oxygen sensor, all four brakes, muffler and the catalytic converter, plus a full transmission flush and regular oil changes every 3,000 miles. The front passenger window sometimes slips when raising the window, but this hasn't been a problem for us, and the car rides well. I had the front right fender and front bumper cover replaced in September 2009 after the car was bumped while sitting in a parking lot because I wanted the car to look like the day it came off the assembly floor. This allowed the front exterior of the car to be cosmetically refurbished to our liking; the original bumper had taken its fair share of bug hits and whatnot over the years, but now it looks (and is) as good as new. Car is in good condition and gets 30+MPG on gas! I’m listing this at several hundred dollars below Blue Book value (please look it up on Kelly Blue Book; in my area, a car in this condition is listed between $2,200 - $2,350 depending on when you check) because we simply don’t need the vehicle anymore and think it should have a good home for a first time driver or college student as it served this purpose exceedingly well for my son. Feel free to e-mail to ask any questions! We are located in Downingtown, PA, 25 miles west of Philadelphia, and just two hours from New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. Thanks for looking! ADDED INFORMATION: I was asked yesterday by a prospective bidder how new the tires were. I purchased four new tires earlier this year, and when I had the car in this week for a periodic maintenance check, I was told that the tire trend depth was "near new" and that they would breeze through the next inspection scheduled for April 2011. Thanks. ADDED INFORMATION: I was asked by a prospective bidder how sales tax works in PA. I do not collect the tax; when you (the new owner) register the car at your local DMV office or local Auto Tag business (to obtain your new registration and a new license plate), you submit the tax payment to them. One of the many advantages of purchasing a car for $1950 is your tax will only be $117 in Pennsylvania. ADDED INFORMATION: I was asked by a prospective bidder if I have the title. Yes, I do and all that needs to be done is for me to sign it over to the new owner; there is a notary public about 5 minutes from my home where we can conduct the transaction. Thanks. ADDED INFORMATION: I was asked by a prospective bidder if I have more details on the new 755DBI/320 Watt receiver that was installed in the car. Here goes: It's Bluetooth-Enabled MP3-Compatible Digital Media Receiver with a Built-in iPod Docking Station, with USB and SD Memory Card ports and front panel AUX input. Also features include: illuminated control buttons, PLL synthesized AM/FM tuner with 30 station presets, quartz digital clock, track repeat/intro scan, preset EQ response curves, and separate bass, treble, loudness, balance, and fader controls. It does not have a CD player. Thanks.
