1946 Chevrolet Fleetmaster 2 door Town Sedan, 216 6-cylinder, "3 on the tree" transmission. Car shows 41000+ miles on odometer, no verification of accuracy of mileage. Car has been an Iowa car through it's life and was recently purchased from a dealership in a small farm town that had taken it in as a trade back in 1994-5. The car is in overall good condition and starts/runs well. Once she gets started and warmed up, she is very smooth but could probably use a carb tuneup. Does not smoke! The floors appear to be solid (the carpet is adhered to the floors and I do not want to rip it out) and I cannot see any rust through from underneath. The trunk is solid as well as the spare tire well (car has original spare tire and jack + accessories). The glass is all there and in pretty darn good shape, the wing glass would be the only exception, but it wouldn't need replacing at this time unless you did a restoration. The frame is solid, there is a bit of rusting here and there as you would expect of a midwest car. The rockers have some rusting as well, but you really can't see unless you look from underneath. The overall exterior of the car is pretty nice, it has been painted in the past (probably 20 yrs ago or so). The fenders, quarters, doors, trunk lid and hood are all in very good and solid shape. There is no rust through on the body at all, the body was prepped back when it was painted in the past. The trim is all there and is in overall very nice shape and most of it is still shiny. Bumpers are in good shape and are straight. Has original wheels and hubcaps with it as well. It has the visor on the front as well. The radio does not work and I am presently looking for a new one to replace. The interior was redone sometime in the past as well and is pretty nice. Unless you were looking to do an immediate restoration, I would not do a thing with it myself. The lights and gauges work on the car and the blower for the heater works. The passenger side window rolls down, but it is stiff. The car came equipped with optionally turn signals as you can see (not presently hooked up). Also has the sidemirrors and drivers side spotlight. * Car does have fender skirts as well* The car has spent most of the past 15 years stored at the dealership and was only taken out for parades and an occassional weekend drive. I got it out of storage and brought her out for someone to have the opportunity to enjoy and drive. The car is not a show car, but she looks great driving down the road and would make a fine daily driver as is or until someone wanted to get more extensive! Wanted to add an item I forgot to mention, the glass for the clock on the dash was broken when I arrived to pick up the car. I wasn't worried about it since that is an easily replaced item, just wanted to mention it. The radio in the car will need to be replaced as well, it is not working and needs a new one. Again, I wasn't worried about that either as I have been able to locate those pretty easily. The car can be stored with prior notice for any length of time. I have a clear title and the car can be viewed upon request. 500.00 deposit due within 24 hrs of end of auction, remainder due upon pickup or prior to (cash, cashiers check, money order).
