Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my rare 1967 Chevrolet Caprice packing the original numbers matching 396 turbo-jet engine. This car was originally built in the Janesville, Wisconsin assembly plant as a 4 door hardtop "Sports Sedan" under Vin#166397J129108. This is a 57,300 mile original car with factory air conditioning, original AM radio, walnut paneling, tissue dispenser, swing down armrest and the original spare tire. Car was purchased new from Van Chevrolet in Mission, Kansas by a fellow who later sold it to his brother here in NY. I purchased it from him in 2008. I also have the original keys contained in the dealership issued leather key case. The car is all original and has had one repaint in Febuary 2010 which was professionally done in the original color of Emerald Turqouise. Custom painted pinstripping in black and silver were also added. This car has no rust or bondo and the paint has a flawless shine. Car was then re-assembled with new weatherstripping all around, new hood insulation and hinges, new rubber bumpers, new wheel moldings and a refreshed engine compartment. This car also has the 400 Hydromatic transmission, 12 bolt posi rear, new front disc brakes, new dual flowmaster exhaust with chrome tips, upgraded Edelbrock carburetor, new battery, new front chrome arm bases, new AM/FM CD radio located in glovebox and loads of many new parts. All chrome bumpers and trim pieces are intact and impeccible. My car has always been serviced and maintained by a repritable classic car mechanic here in NY. This car sounds, drives and feels just as good as it looks. This car would be a great candidate as a low rider or donk with lots of muscle power. Included in the sale will be a new car show board, manuals, stock caburetor and 396 air cleaner, new orange valve covers and a 2nd set of wheel rings and caps to keep the new ones in show condition. In June I drove this car to Carlisle, PA for the GM Nationals and took 3rd place in my class among the likes of 1967-70 427 Impalas and Biscaynes. This car is show ready and will win awards and is a pleasure to drive anywhere. I am only offering this car because of my recent medical disability which prevents me from driving this beauty. Please email me or contact me @ 718-314-0792 for additional information or pictures. Inspections also encouraged. Pickup Only and shipping to be the responsibility of the buyer. Thanks and good luck! I reserve the right to end the listing early as it is listed locally as well. I also created a youtube video for those interested in hearing how well the car sounds with the new dual flowmaster exhaust. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8j_XuqTYfEo Additional pictures can be viewed by accessing this link http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae178/george0602/67%20Caprice/ On Sep-11-10 at 18:38:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Your browser does not support JavaScript. Yes, along with other documentation, brochures, manuals and receipts that will go with the car. I have also lowered the reserve to thousands less than what it was apprasied at $18,000 this summer. Good luck and thanks again!
